Someone will surely correct me if I'm wrong, but if your guy has already been seen by an IPO somewhere other than MW, the "interview" with MW IPO may be something as simple as "sign here, you're in review." It depends on how much, if any, info the IPO needs. And, then the IPO might not see him until 60 days prior to his PRD depending on when your guy's last parole review was or when it's scheduled for. I would call once a week until you hear the IPO has been assigned. I hope it goes quickly for you!

To try to be more clear, in TX, there are two ways to get early release. One is parole and one is Release to Mandatory Supervision (RMS). Not all charges are eligible for RMS, though, but most guys in MW are eligible for RMS. They both result in the ex-inmate reporting to a parole officer.

After an inmate’s PED, inmates are reviewed yearly for parole in the month they were reviewed for their PED. The PB can approve or deny an inmate for just about any reason. The inmate has a 50/50 chance, and we don’t really know what the PB will do at any given review.

Then there's the inmate’s PRD. The PRD is when the inmate’s good time plus flat time adds up to a complete sentence. The PB will review the inmate within 30 days prior to the inmate’s PRD regardless of when his/her last parole review was. The PB can still choose to block that PRD release if they choose, so the PRD is not a guarantee (unless his offence was committed prior to Sept. 1996), but we have seen the PB pull an inmates file for review up to 60 days prior to his PRD or for a regular parole review.

So the next time you call, you might want to ask if he's in review for his yearly parole review or if it's the PRD vote. I wish you the best of luck!

My husbands process, from initial IPO interview to Board vote took 3 1/2 months. Hang in there! I would call every week and as soon as it hit the board two weeks ago I started calling twice a week. We finally got a decision on Tuesday

Keep your head up and keep calm

If it helps I will give you my guy's time line:

PED - 1-14-12
PRD - 09-22-12 (1st one) 09-08-12 (after 6 months in TDCJ)
Entered county - October 24, 2011
Transferred to TDCJ - December 9, 2011
Transferred to MW Unit - February 1, 2012
IPO Interview - May 4, 2012
File at board for voting - May 30, 2012
Approved for FI-1 - June 7, 2012
Home plan approved - June 13, 2012
Received his FI-1 papers and got blood drawn - June 13, 2012
Certificate printed - NOT YET
Going home date - NOT YET

I'm just guessing here, but he may have another month before he gets interviewed by IPO. Please keep us posted and just keep calling, that's what I did!

Here is my timeline.
signed 90 - 3/9
file at palatine - 4/9
in voting - 5/17
Yes answer - 5/23
date of release -5/24
home plan approved - 5/30
home - 6/8

Now this was for his PRD. Plus his second time for Prd review if that makes a difference I don't know. All I know it was nerve wraking and I don't want yo have to do it again. I know what y'all are going through and I'm praying for all of you
