Default Mailing Calendars to inmates. Any problems?

Curious if anyone has mailed a calendar to an inmate and had it rejected because of the staples used to hold the calendar together ???

Have a nice day.

I have personally mailed my guy a small calendar and it did have staples attaching the top part but I'm California so not sure if it's ok in your state. Call your inmates prison mailroom and ask they'll tell you so you can be sure. I hope you can. If not you might be able to take the staples out and send it like that. Hope this helps

This totally depends on the prison. Most will not allow staples. Some prisons don't even allow calendars to be mailed in at all.

I can't mail a whole calendar where he is, so each month I send the next month coming up....And I write on it letting him know the days I will be there for a visit.

I send Michael (who is in VA) a single calendar page every month that I print out on the computer and write in all the things the kids and I are doing. He asks me about things on there, so I know he's getting them, and there hasn't been a problem so far anyway.

well I'm in Cali so I'm sure it may be different but I have sent 2 calendars to my husband, one 7x7 and one 11x13 and both had staples, both were in the sealed wrap they came in and he received them both and uses them both.

I made him a calendar and made sure not to staple it or secure it in any way, shape or form and it was still sent back to me. On the sheet, someone wrote at the bottom that calendars weren't allowed. I was furious because I check before I took the time to make it and calendars weren't on the list of prohibited items.

I ended up calling the mail room and speaking to a supervisor who gave me her name and told me to resend it and put a note in there referring to our conversation that my calendar was allowed. He finally received it.
