Corona Virus & lockdown LA county

Does anybody know what measures are being taken other that locking down inmates in a already infected area ? Corona virus is already in the county jail system and its spreading..I was at CCB court for my boyfriend this passed Monday and he told me they where in the court tank with someone that turned out to test positive for corona virus that is awful that they would be so careless to house them all together now my boyfriend says hes a little sick last time I talked to him and is gona be tested on Monday which by then it could spread in there like a wildfire..

Looks like LA county is employing a lockdown to "essential travel"... If you are not deemed essential travel you will be prosecuted and/or imprisoned.

Looks like prison is no longer on the inside of the walls soon!!!

Effective: March 19, 2020 until FURTHER NOTICE.

For: All California Residents! Only exceptions are people engaged in “essential activities, government functions, or to operate essential businesses.” I’ll explain further below.

Failure to comply is a Misdemeanor charge punishable by fine, imprisonment or both. Yes, you read that right! You can get arrested!

Facts:
-In place to slow the spread of COVID-19.
-948 people have tested positive
-16 confirmed deaths, possibly 19
-Bay Area, in particular Santa Clara County, is the epicenter of the virus.
-This order is due to the State of Emergency issued by Governor Newsom.
-Order based on recommendations of the Center of Disease Control, CA Dept. of Public Health and local officials.
-All indoor malls, shopping centers, playgrounds and non-essential retail businesses to close
-The state projects that 25.5 million people in California will be infected with the coronavirus over an eight-week period if preventive measures are not followed.
-500 National Guards deployed for Humanitarian relief
-COVID-19 is spread through contact. Can live on surfaces for up to two hours. Also transmitted through droplets via coughing or sneezing.

What is “Social Distancing?”
-Staying away at least 6 feet from people
-washing hands for 20 SECONDS!
-Using Hand sanitizer
-Covering coughs and sneezing
-No gatherings of any size are allowed!

YOU MAY ONLY LEAVE YOUR HOUSE IF:
-Your are performing essential activities. High risk folks, 60+ and those with chronic illnesses, should stay home at all times!

What are “Essential activities?”
-going to work (to an essential business), doctor’s visits, buying necessities, to care for family or pets.

What “essential businesses” will remain open?
-Gas stations, Pharmacies, Food: Grocery stores, farmers markets, food banks, convenience stores, take-out and delivery restaurants, Banks, Laundromats/laundry services. Essential state and local government functions will also remain open, including law enforcement and offices that provide government programs and services

What is an “essential business/job?”
-healthcare workers, first responders, law enforcement, public works construction, governmental personnel, nonprofit and education workers that provide services, communications folks(media), food service (groceries, food banks), gas and auto repair folks, plumbers, electricians, etc, restaurants preparing meals to go, businesses that deliver food, airlines, taxis, lyft, Uber,etc., those who care for seniors or children, childcare that support exempt individuals, HR folks implementing social distancing policies, transportation for those in need, hotel/residency folks.

What is closed?
-Dine-in restaurants,Bars and nightclubs, Entertainment venues, Gyms and fitness studios, Public events and gatherings, Convention Centers

Enforcement:
Sheriff and police department responsible for making sure people comply! In other words, DO NOT GO OUT UNLESS YOU ARE PERFORMING AN “ESSENTIAL ACTIVITY!”

Yea my boyfriend is in mcj right now and the other week he said they were locked down because someome showed symptoms. Im worried. Doesnt seem like they ARE doing much.
