Default I'm Keeping an eye on HB-649-FN

HB-649-FN as amended is still alive in the House of Representatives. The amendment is to eliminate the age wording. Everyplace the Bill specified "Prisoners Ages 17-25" those words “Prisoners Ages 17-25” have been removed. There is a lot of support for this Bill in both the House and Senate. The DOC has expressed concerns that it does not allow every inmate an opportunity to achieve a reduction. The issue may become NH’s Truth in Sentencing. A Bill to abolish Truth in Sentencing I would expect to see in the near future.
