My little brother just got to Kirkland in January..sentenced to 7 years. He is only 21, I'm praying that one of you have an older family memeber there that can give him some knowledge and smack him in the head if he messes up! Please send me a message someone!

Hey, I am Gloria. My daughter is at Goodman for 3 yrs or more. Depending on how she does. I already hate this nightmare. I have seen her the past 3 weekends, it is only about an hour away. Thank God for that. I am dealing with this the best I can. Our good old justice system is not liberty and justice for all. It's all about money and how much you can or willing to spend. I wish she would have communicated with me more or she wouldn't be doing time now. She's 26 and my only child. I have 3 beautiful grandchildren and the oldest won't even talk to her mom on the phone, due to some bs from her daddy and others on his side. We communicate more and I am hoping time will pass by fast and she stays outta trouble. Our justice system needs a complete overhaul. She hasn't seen anyone but me and her dad. She has talked to her 2 boys on the phone but I am hoping she gets to have some more visitors soon.

Im sorry to hear about what you're going thru Gloria. It sounds like you are providing that much needed support and love your daughter needs. She is lucky to have you there and be there for your grandkids. I agree with you about needing money to get justice. It sure feels that way on our end too. My BF is talking with yet another overpriced lawyer to put in another appeal. <sigh> Nightmare, indeed. Good luck. hhello everyone im anna from spartanburg,sc. My fiance has been in jail since may 25 2011 on drug charges in cherokee county, he was sentenced a few days ago, served a warrant for spartanburg county was there a day and now i think hes at kirkland. we had terrible issues with cherokee county ive not heard good things about kirkland. scdoc n various county jail are so very frustrating at an already stressed and confusing time this site has been helpful

Hey Missy, thanks for the response. Hope things go for the best for your bf. Yep lawyers are a bunch of money hungry sharks. It's all bs..Sick of it but stay strong for Kristin. We have mornin visits this weekend. I am lucky that me and my supporting husband have the means to make things easier on her. of course, we do work everyday for it, by no means rich. Anyway have a good one. I am so glad to find this site

Hello, I have a Fiance who is currently at Stevenson right now, Due to be released in March 2012 and has 3 yrs of probation after. He has been away since May 2011.

I'm new here...My bf went up for parole last week and was denied. He is currently at Watkins in Columbia (1.5-2 hrs away from home)...I ran across this site while lookin for info for any options or alternatives he has (appeals, transfers, etc). But if all else fails it looks like we got about 14 months left. PTO seems to be a really informative/supportive site, which we can all use a lil of both when dealing with this
