Teacher Convicted Of Murder Now Accused In Sex Crime

BALTIMORE -- A convicted murderer who teaches at a Maryland private school has been charged with sexually abusing three students.

The Baltimore Sun reported Saturady the teacher is charged with raping a 13-year-old girl. He's also facing charges of sexually abusing another 13-year-old and a 17-year-old.

The teacher had been convicted a decade ago of second-degree murder stemming from a fight. Parents and students at the school, Community Initiatives Academy, were never told about the conviction.

The school principal said the man was hired because she believed the murder had nothing to do with children. The assistant principal is quoted as saying that the 28-year-old teacher's "winning personality" impressed them.
