When he's down he descibes it as a concrete hell but otherwise he laughs and calls it kindergarten.

He doesn't really say too much about it other than it's lonely, boring, and there are a lot of rowdy, disrespectful people. I'm sure, in some cases anyway, he fits right in

Now he's calling it an "extended cruise"... except there is no boat, no water, and you can't get away from the people than annoy you.

Hubby doesn't say much about it except that he can't wait to get the heck out of there. He does say that the food is bunk, and he's scared to death to eat what comes from there. He's also scared to death of medical. He says they kill people instead of cure them. Four more months! I'll be so glad, and so will he.

Mine is in Big Sandy federal maximum security prison. He says, food is really bad (he got transferred from a different prison, and he says meals were better there). Also everything is stressed more towards the punishment, not rehabilitaton, don't have much programs, etc. They been on a number of lockdowns this year, on the really long one recently, just few days ago.

My guy says it's not too bad considering what it is. He never complains about anything. He gets along with most the people in his dorm. He mainly sticks with the same few people, so he stays out of trouble.

First of all my sweetheart hates prison period! as I'm sure all of your men do as well. However, the prison he is at now is okay. It is very clean, some of the co's are okay, the food is horrible-(he eats only from commissary). The staff and administration go strictly by the rules though, they will not bend at all. Overall he likes it better than where he was before.

Well, since he's a clean freak I know he hates any uncleanliness. But overall I think he's just bored. It's not like he doesn't know how to deal with the time..he's been there so many times before.

My husband says it's not that bad, but he just misses us and wants to come home. As someone else said, he doesn't belong there. His counselor even told him that. He calls it the "looney bin"! He swears everyone is crazy. He is also on a miniumum security yard which is outside of the prison walls. He has a job five days of the week and this helps him "burn his time". The rest of the time he likes to keep to himself reading, writing letters or working out. He tells me the food is actually pretty good even though he's lost over fifty pounds in the six months he's been in. I go to visit every week-end, so that helps too. Gives him something to look forward to. Thank God we don't have much time left to do this!!!

It's not a picnic in the park - He doesn't like it at all.. Today he said, "I can't stand this f-in place. All these damn clowns are to much to take, a lot of them are running around having a f-in conversation with themselves."

He says the actual prison is over 100 years old and is really dirty, so he always cleans his space. He says it is alot of BS going on in the walls. It is like a city there. He has fun because he can have fun no matter what he is doing. His attitude helps the time pass. Plus he is locked up with alot of people he knows so that helps too. They work out, play on the softball team and be boys I guess. Its not all bad the way he describes things.

He says it isn't that bad sometimes, but then other times he says how it breaks people down and how bad it is. So I think he doesn't want to tell me if it is horrible. I know it is definatly boring!

My pen pal says he doesnt like it and lately there has been a lot of fires, gassings, and inmate protests and even a female guard was caught fu**ing an inmate the other day. He says all the action going on around there keeps it really interesting and doesnt get bored too much cause the action is pretty constant. He's on DR in Polunsky unit and hes only been there about a year.

I voted that I think he actually likes it there, but that is ONLY compared to the other units he has been on... By NO MEANS does he enjoy being in prison rather than home... The unit he is on now is way more relaxed than the others he's been on. From what I saw at visit it is very true... Although the unit he is currently on has a bad rep, from what he says it's better than his last unit, and I definitely like visitation more...

my hubby says his is not bad compared to most of the others. he works mon - fri and says some days are good and some days are bad. since i work on the weekends, those are his most boring times. other than that, he does his work, keeps just a few friends, and spends alot of time reading.

Where he's at now is very mellow compared to others hes been in. But he is very burnt out on prison and is looking forward to coming home. He has done time in the most violent of Californias prisons. He works a lot and does his art to pass time and for spending money, works out, runs, and reads.

My Man Is In A Maximum Security Prison And He Says That Its Not As Bad As We Think It Is But He Hates It There And The Food Is Awful. Thats Why I Go To See Him As Often As Possible, To Feed Him...the Food We Can Order Is Not That Great But Its Better Than What He Gets.
