Being just there is all he has to do. My honey was at the scene and got charged for being JUST THERE. He didnt even do anything but because of his stupid friends he was in trouble too. Yes the system does suck but i believe everything happens for a reason and becuase of this my baby has learned his lesson on the friends that he keeps.

i do feel like deont'e got too much time (though everyone else says hes lucky for the short sentence he did get!) he was given five and a half - six years eleven months sentence (yeah, doesnt make sense but i suppose they are confused and dont know which one they're giving him yet, haha leave it to the justice system!) he was in a car accident in which the operator of the other vehicle died. deont'es passenger and the deceased ladies passenger both survived with severe injuries and neither wanted to press charges. deont'e fled the scene of the accident claiming shock (i mean how can they say he fled the scene when he brought himself to the hospital and said "i was the one driving the car"?) the pictures of the accident clearly show that the other car was the one who hit deont'es car, but i guess the whole thing is who ran the red light. there was no witnesses, no cameras, and both passengers say they blacked out and remember nothing. the judge told deont'e they dont have reasonable cause to believe him because hes a past offender. in all, he was charged with two counts of aggravated vehicular assault (because the passengers didnt want to press charges, the state did it for them..) one count of aggravated vehicular homicide, hit and skip, and hes now serving time for an RSP case he was previously on probation for! bullcrap, i think. =( it was a car accident. key word - accident?

Default I even told it to the Judge

He should have never got the max sentence. I even told it to the Judge. Judge agreed because he sure modified that sentence like no other. Took it way down.

WITHOUT A DOUBT. In what country or what planet do you get 12 years for disiplining your children. There were no bruises and he is an awesome father. Why do they bring things up that you did 15 years ago if you have done so good all this time. How are they helping the family my keeping us apart. YES WAY TOO MUCH TIME. what is this double your time and then also make you do 80%

Jason is signing for 2 years on March 29th for probation violation. He was on 8 years probation from 2000 so he went almost 7 years and then he misses ONE meeting with his P.O. and she puts out a blue warrant. It sucks, but it could be worse =) He will be up for parole in July.

Default Unfair

I don't know so much about the time, but the reason was pretty unfair.

We live in Wyoming, and my fiance was working 2 other jobs because his p.o. wouldn't let him work 30 miles across the border, where the money for his job is MUCH better. So he took up a third job. He was security 3 nights a week at the bar where I waitress.

Granted, he was not supposed to be in the bar as a condition of his parole, but he was just trying to make a living. They came and arrested him at work, when he was totally sober and everything. They violated him and gave him a year and a day.

Totally unfair.

Only 8 months left though!

I think his sentence was excessive, especially considering the details behind it all.

I was at a friends house and someone at their house stole $1200 from me. No one would help me figure out who did it and everyone acted like I was crazy. I called the police and they were no help, either. So, I went home. My guy was there and went back over to their house. Initially he was just going to go into the backyard to get a business card of someone else that was there because I wanted everyone's information for when I called the police again. We were both a wreck at the time -- I had just been betrayed by my best friends of 10 years and he was... doing bad things that made his mind not right. Well, he walked right into the UNLOCKED house, which we have done MANY times before, walked into the room where my friends were sleeping and started yelling at them asking where the money was. They told him to leave and that they were calling the cops, and he did.

He was in trouble before, but had been out 6+ years and his previous crime was committed almost 10 years ago. The girls claimed that he broke into their house 3 more times that weekend and stole from them -- and there is just absolutely NO WAY he did that. They also said he had a gun. There was a 2nd guy who was never found (who is in prison right now for something different). No one ever looked into who the 2nd guy was or looked into my missing money. I paid $25,000 for a lawyer that took me for quite a ride and got him the same plea agreement he would have had w/ a PD - or NO legal counsel for that matter. BULL!

9.25 years for that - Burglary in the 1st! When I look at some of your other stories I am thankful that's what he got, but it still sucks!

I somewhat think he sentence was unfair, but then again he was lucky. My fiance got 10 years from robbery, and drugs.... he had been arrested before for selling, but just placed on probation. but thankfully this battle is almost over, he's suppose to get out in Nov 07'(just a 4 yr sent) but he is getting his good time back so hopefully August 07'!!

my son was 17, never knew the girl was 14, in school he got charged, he lost football carrer& all, everyone said they took it too far since the girl parents was on our side, they gave him 10 yrs, but he was too scared & embarrassed to register, so he's gotten more time i think.

I think my husband's sentence is BOGUS... he is sitting in jail for something he couldnt possibly have done, He was already incarcerated when they said he stole a car.... how can you steal a car when you are already in jail?? so now he is serving 6 months..... the paper is right there, showing he was in jail on this supposed Offense date....... so yeah i think they should have dropped the charges and now when he gets out he has to do 36 months of probation!!!!!

Wow my herat goes out to all you guys. My man got a fair sentence..compared to a lot of people who did the same crime. He will be home in a year or less. In court the judge told him that he was facing up to 16 years. Maybe he had a good lawyer? My baby did a plea..I was really scared but that actually helped him. He told the judge that he "was" guilty. I guess the judge was having a good day and appreciated the honesty?? I don't know I feel VERY blessed.

yes-- definitely too much time. He sold to an addict and the addict od'd and died. therefore he got charged with the death. min 20 years max life. Federal Case-- he got the 20 years--no parole no probabtion. he has to lose a 1/4 of his life because of someone else's bad habit? Drug sentences dont really do that much good-- especially since the drugs are readily available in prison as well... how do you reform and correct yourself when u are locked up with the problem for half your life? do the time for dealing the drugs---yes, do the time cuz someone killed themselves.. no

I’m going to break with the ranks here and say no, my guy got a lot less time than he could have and he is extremely lucky. He is doing 7 years 85% of which he has to serve. If he had gone to court and lost he could have gotten 25 to life. It was also his fourth offence. He even acknowledges the fact that he got a great deal.

My guy got 5-15 for R/C stolen property. Way too much time! But if he was in Detroit, he probably would have gotten 12-18 months. He was in the suburbs!

me and JAMIE havent really discussed his charges or his sentences in depth.for robbery he got 10 years and for sodomy he got 12 1/2 years.the thing is that all DNA evidence was negative.being that the victim had been assaulted with a knife JAMES' knife was tested and negative of any blood traces.the witness herself had multiple inconsistencies in her testimony but JAMES' lawyer let everything slide.just now i have knowledge that may be crucial to his freedom but since he has been sentenced in kentucky im unsure if it would even help.anyone got ANY feedbac i will be checking this thread by my profile under find all threads/posts.thanks family.

The guy who assaulted me, It hink that he got a fair sentence with me, which was 20-50 years for felonious assault/armed robbery, but he only got 3 years for trying to rape his own daughter. To me , that is too short of a time. Since I know he probably won't get out at his earliest release date I'm not as worried, which is in 2021, and ideally I would like for him to max out in 2048 for my safety, but I think that 3 years for attacking and trying to rape your young daughter is too light. ( sorry, don't mean to offend anyone with a love one with that charge).

I think Jeff got a little too harsh of a sentence. He got 14 and a half years for what he did. I think 10 years would have been fair. He is out on parole now and still has 4 and a half years left.
