Default Anyone have a loved one at Northern Regional in Moundsville??

Just curious if anyone else had someone at the Moundsville Facility. There doesn't seem to be hardly anyone with any info on this jail.

I'm new to this whole prison/jail situation so I guess I'm in the dark about mostly everything. I have a contact visit with my fiance on Sept 17th and I was just wondering how its setup exactly, what it's like, etc. Also, I know a lot of people talk about their loved one being moved around a lot to different facilities and I was wondering what the possibility of that was. =) Thanks for any info/guidance you can give me.

Hi, i just wanted to let you know how your contact visit will work. Ok there is only 2 different times a day that they have contact visits. They recently changed the time scheduling, so just be aware of that. Who ever will be checking you in will be very strict. You are best off to arrive at the facility 30 minutes prior to your visit. You will go in and sign a visitation card as you would with any visit. Make sure you have 2 forms of identification, or you WILL NOT get in. One of the forms MUST be a photo id, and CAN NOT be expired. You must dress according to the books. No short, tank tops, etc... Do not let any skin show pretty much. Wear pants that aren't tight fitting, and a tee shirt or sweat shirt. You MUST have an underwire bra on. Ok after you fill out your card, you will wait for a male and female officer to be present. They will call either MALES or FEMALES first. They will take you into a little room and pat you down. After that you will all line up by the mirror and the door that you go in for non-contact visits. After everyone has been searched, they will take you back through the main door. You all will wait for the door to shut, and then the door on your side will open. You will all go in and find a table to sit at. Be aware that if it is just you going, you must sit across from the inmate. If there is only 2 of you going in, 1 can sit by the inmate, and the other must sit directly across from the inmate. When they bring the inmates in, you will be able to quickly kiss them, give them a hug, and then you MUST sit down. Your visit will last for 1 hour, and then you will do the routine that you did when they first brought the inmates in (kiss, hug,& leave). At the end of the visit, the inmates will all line up by the door that they came in, and the visitors will line up by the door that they came in. That's how it works. Any more questions feel free to e-mail me at (e-mail address removed per PTO policy). Hope I helped some, and good luck with your visit.

Its very, very rare that anyone is hurt or sexually assaulted in the WV Regional Jails. Most of the "abuse" comes from the isolation and frustration the inmate feels at having lost their freedom and having to adjust to a whole new way of life for a while. The environment is not the best, the food and medical care leave a lot to be desired, and some of the CO's are real %*^!holes. I am not saying that physical and/or sexual abuse nevers happens, but its not a common occurrence.

Good luck!

hey guysgal,

Thank you so much for responding...I hope that it doesn't happen.
I haven't been there to see him yet...(I live really far away)
Are they able to watch TV or anything to help the time
pass?? I sent him a card and letter, but I put a sticker on it...so they'll
probably send it back! I'm just praying for him to get through this!!

Thanks!
mmae
