What pod is your man on in Valley?? I have friends in 2-D and 2-C?? Most of them in 2-D are heading up to Concord within the next month also, and I've got a few friends up in Concord. If for some reason you don't get to talk to him, but he writes you and you know what building he is in, this site has visiting hours.

My room mate was sentenced to Concord this week and I have called to find out how to write and what the visiting policy was and what pod he was in and the people who answer the phone gave me no info at all. Myself and his family are not being helped to obtain any info. Is this normal or should we keep calling untill we get someone that will give us these details?

You are dealing with something that is very typical. Basically we wait until our loved ones contact us from the inside by a collect call to give us the information.
Most likely you will not get anywhere by calling the prison. Right now your roommate is going through a "processing" stage where they decide which classification he belongs in and which section he should be placed in. Then they decide if he should go to Berlin or Laconia instead then they go through the processing again. Soon he will have an inmate number and will be able to contact you to let you know all the information you need. Then if you want to be placed on the visitors list, that is at least another 2 weeks process to be approved because they do a criminal back ground check.

Thankyou so much DragonflyNH! I appreciate the info but that could mean he will be a lot further away and the wait to see him for me and his mom is going to seem like forever. I thank you, If there is anyother info you can pass on to us I will look forward to hearing it. We currently know only what we can see on the internet and are very worried this is the first time he has ever been in trouble and in prison or jail. thanks again

Default You Need His Prison Id #

You can send him up to $1,000.00 at a time - I believe. Actually, it's more like he can have $1,000.00 at a time. You usually have to do so by money order ~ but call the prison and talk to someone in the Mail and Property Department and they can tell you exactly how to send money. Some facilities use Western Union. Some only accept money orders. I would imagine that no one would accept a check and of course not cash.

My roommate tried to call me from Concord and he was unable to get through he got a recording saying my home # was blocked to recieve calls from that facillity. He did get through to his brother who is also with Comcast. We have no blocks on this number and I have been on the phone with Comcast our carrier and have gotten the royal run around I've been at this for the last 5 hours. Does any one know how to solve this problem Comcast refered me to MCI and MCI to Verison and them back to Comcast.
Has any body else had this problem? I am at a dead end. I need to get this fixed immediatly. Its frustrating! If not thanks for letting me vent.

Default Canteen And Stuff

They can order all kinds of food items like Ramen noodles, coffee, kipper snacks, tuna, gingerale and I believe Pepsi products. They also can order things like stamps, pads of paper, watches, cassette players and I believe they can buy a television if they want among other things.

Call PCS...1-888-288-9879 and see if you have to set up an account with them first.

You cannot send money until you are on his Visitor's list. I believe the maximum amount he can have in his account is $500, I'm not 100% positive. If you send a money order to him without being on his visitor's list, you would be breaking a law and be accused of sending a contraband.

He can send a sample of the canteen list. In Laconia they have cut back on what people can order. They want the inmates to eat healthy but now they can only order JUNK FOOD. Go figure. Please keep in mind if you are to send them money, to BUDGET yourself. Things are VERY expensive in there. They need money to by personal hyigene and other things such as food and paper, stamps, medications, education, clothing, etc. The prison overcharge on everything. The only thing they cannot is the price of stamps.

*removed contact info, see PTO Policies*

Default Yeah first step accomplished

Thanks to all,
BJ called tonight and was able to talk to me about 15-20 minutes. It was so good to hear from him and hear his voice. It was all due to your help. He sounds bewildered but knows he has people there for him, despite the Curcumstances he is coping so far.
He asked us to write, he said he heard it may be two months before they will let us visit is this possible or is someone giving him false info. Would help if I knew has anyone heard of it taking this long to get to visit we have allready sent the paper work back today to him for visitation.

It Took me almost a month to finally get on the visitor's list to see my husband. Then 5 months later, they almost took me off the visitor's list because of some issue regarding my maiden name and my married name. They were confused that I use BOTH and not just my husband's last name. But after that was straightened out, it was fine. But it was a hassle and I was frustrated that I almost lost visitations with my husband over something stupid.

Thanks for the info 1 month is a lot better than 2 or more. We were ready to have to wait 1month. I don't have to worry about the last name thing I've never married so I only have the one, but I am worried about first names because I do have a nickmane which I am also known as but my license has my legal name on it. Do you think this will be a problem. They are both deviations of the same name?

Default could just go but

He is in Concord NH State Prison he is an hour away each way! I cant imagine why either i know the background check will come up with nothing they always do Ive had them done for employment in the past and It was always quick an painless. I have never been in any kind of trouble in my whole 49 years. I just hope they get this straightened out this week so we can go see him next Sunday. thanks kristinm it has been a let down but he let me know he would like a few pictures so I sent them to him within an hour after he called. so at least I was able to do something for him. WE JUST HAVE TO HANG IN THERE.
