Default My Wish!

I might not be able to get on the site this week-end. I am starting a business (Momma G's Pound Cakes) and I am getting a lot of orders . I started this with the hope that if my son can't find a job when he get out I will have one for him . I am also back to doing independent contract work for Artistic Impressions as a Personal Art Broker. So if you are in MI and need to upgrade the Art in you home (or looking for business opportunity) or want to order a cake get with me . OK that my pitch ! Thanks:You guys helped me do this along w/ my son ! you give me courage!

Just wanted to say MUCH LUV TO Y'ALL and that my wish for each and every one of you is: Your week-end be full of : LOVE, SUPPORT, PEACE, and LAUGHTER! I pray that our children have a little of that too! May GOD be with you as you travel to the diffrent facilities and may your visit be great! Remember that your God loves you and so do I.
Please have a safe and happy week-end and do something nice for yourself! If you cup is empty you won't be any good to any one! So take a moment to FILL your CUP.
YA!

OK, I am beginning to panic - no PTO this weekend . Just kidding I will be fine. Let's see how far is it to MI? I like pound cake but thought that was a southern thing.

I am so displaced it does not matter anyway. I am a yankee from New York but have been in the south for going on 30 years. Wow I just thought about that!!!

Any who with the system change this weekend I hope you all the best. My prayers for all of those who's lives I touch.

I was reading a devotional today and came across this verse:

Romans 5:3-5, "...we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us." (NIV)

I thought it was very encouraging and wanted to share it.

Congratulations on the new business!
I have to agree, finding a job for anyone nowadays is difficult, but with a felony record it's darn near impossible!
I thought my youngest son was doing great, having gotten a job paying $10 an hour (around here that's good wages), but he has quit. He was getting maybe 6 hours a week. How can you live on that? He has a $400 month rent payment, electricity bill and phone bill. And right now I'm so broke I can't help him (Thank you IRS and the State of Maine! )

Sure wish I was back home so I could try one of your pound cakes. They must be darn good if you're selling so many orders. Let me know when you go online.

Again, good luck with the business. Let us know how it all went this weekend. Luv ya!!

Thumbs up

I hope each of you had a wonderful week-end!
For the first time in a long time I can say mine was GREAT:fb: ! I did real well this week-end with my cakes, I sold 8 cakes (+) 2 cheese cakes and have about 12 mother's day orders . I did a low sugar and low fat version and it went well .
My visit with my son was great, lots of laughs . It sucks that every time we find something in the machines he will eat they don't have it the next week! Do they watch and see what the guys like and make sure they don't have it the next time? I got to meet a couple of the PTO members brifley . I wish I could have spent more time with them but I enjoyed our brief encounter . I wish every week could be as good as this one, I even got the books that MDOC had been holding . Thanks to a great C.O. (yes! I did say that ) and my son's ability to handle things in the proper manner !
OH Yeah, THE PISTONS WON !
Much Luv To Y'All!

Its good to see your up now. I don't post much here, but I do read them all. I can't figure out how to post my number on my siggy. Yesterday was my son's 27th birthday, his second in jail. Very depressing. Hope all your sons are good. They are always in my prayers. I recieved a letter from Bill Mckinney. He told me to tell his mom he loves her. But I don't know who his mama is. I sent him a Valentine days card and he was saying ty. Does anyone want to claim him? He seems like a very nice young man. He said he wrote the letter in the dark, but he wanted to say ty.

Good to hear from U. It is always hard to hear about someone who has a celebration of any kind while behind bars . You are both in my prayers ! As far as Bill you night try to do a post in the area where his facility post are or the state where his facility is: ie;Cooper Street Facility, Michigan Prisons, or Parents of children... You could post his name w/ a note saying that you received a message from him and see if I get a reply . You just might be able to help him contact her. Try to cut and paste your # and add it to your siggy, that might work . I am not real good with that kind of stuff . Keep holding on If no one else need to hear from you I do .
MUCH LUV TO YA!

mswal1, I am so happy to hear that the cake business is taking off. What did your son say when you told him he would be handling the business with you when he gets home? Hope he likes to bake. You didn't mention cheesecake (yum-yum) before. I hope you all the best

I know, she didn't mention it! Now I'm going to have to add her cheesecake to my "Eat your way through Michigan" tour.

The food and the Great Lakes are what I miss the most about Michigan. One of these years I want to visit, and pig out on all the food and drink I can't get around here. Faygo, Vernor's, fresh White Castle hamburgers, Fish fries, etc. etc. Even a Big Boy. Ohhh, I've gained 5 pounds just thinking about it!

Glad to hear the business went erll, mswalk1. Are you selling them out of your home, or do you have a contract with a store? Either way, it sounds like a great start! Congratulations.

I'm reposting the following instructions for you to add the club member to your signature. You can either type it in using your own fonst/colors, etc. or just copy and paste from mswalk1's reply with your number. As always, any further help, please feel free to PM me.

That's where you need to go.
Once on the page, you will see a regular box just like for a reply, use that to add whatever you want to your signature. You can set a font, choose a different color, etc.
About the glitter things, a lot of people make their own at glittermaker.com. There is a whole thread in the siggies and graphics forum on places to make them. Also, you can ask one of the members that offer to make them personally for you to do one.
Once you have an image, which is what the glitter things are, you can put it at photobucket, and link to it from there. It gives you a link to use. I'm pretty sure it's the IMG one (there is a choice of three codes to use). Play with your signature until you're satisfied with it. The preview box at the top will show you how it's going.
Hope this helps. If you need any help, please be sure to ask me. PM me if you like.

Thumbs up U Guy's Are The Best!

First let me say "Thank You" for your luv and support"! Next let me say That when I get to INC. ( The Girl's Got Skills, LLC) how does that sound? This will include all my businesses (Loving Angel (in home assistance), Momma G's, my independant contractor services as an Art Broker). You all will be first on my list ! You all gave me the strength and courage to do this: Believe me U did, Although we have never discussed starting a business you all gave me the chance to clear my mind and to have a little FAITH & HOPE! I will be doing a special notes on my boxes (when I can afford them ) to say :Thanks to MY PTO crew For the inspiration to get this started. My son dosn't really bake but he will learn ! He can however: check the time for baking, wrap, take orders, and deliver. He can however make a mean Peanut Butter Cookie ! He said he is proud of me, He always knew I could do it (start a business) although it took years for me to believe! I told him that I got a lot of support from you all. He was suprised that I choose to bake , I quit baking when they were kids. I hope to soon be able to ship in and out of state, so for all of you who have hopes of a taste "I am thinking about you"! Your first taste will be "ON THE HOUSE" ! Be sure to share so that other will know that I. I have give a few samples to resturants, they like it but most have been with their vendors for a while and it is hard to chang them. I hope to be at some of the Summer Festivals to "Serve It Up" . My hubby is doing a great job selling at work (don't know what I would do with out him) . Right now I am still in the hole but not a lot . I gave a lot of samples. I needed people to taste the product 95% said:fb: so I jumped in! The Heavy Rum Pound Cake is "OFF the HOOK". Already got 2nd request for them .
I am putting a few irons in the fire. Hope to get all 3 of my kid involved and open the door for my 12 grands and 1 great grand to get on board ! It is keeping me busy and help me to make sure I can supply my son with what he needs right now and in the future.
I will also be doing my first Art Presentation this weekend. I used to do this a while back but got out because of my health. The artwork is beautiful and it's easy. I like talking to people and I love when the art comes back (goes out to be framed) and my customer is happy . I have found that it is amazing what a great piece of art will do for a room. So wish me luck!
I am glad to have some good news to share; hope it encourages some one to take a step that they have been afraid to take or one that they wanted to take but thought it would not make sense. Be it for income, or you just love it, or you want to help some one! "Just Do It" and Let GOD take care of the rest! I am trying to have all 3 in every thing I do. I will be donating a % of my income to this and others when I can see my return ! I know there will come some storms so I hope you all don't run when I start to whine about them (that was a JOKE) !
Enough about me . How U all doing ?
MUCH LUV TO YA! Believe It

Thumbs up Had to pass this to U!

Lookee here!

Have you ever been just sitting
there and all of a sudden you feel like doing something
nice for someone you care for? THAT'S GOD talking
to you through the Holy Spirit.

Have you ever been down and
out and nobody seems to be around for you to talk
to? THAT'S GOD wanting you to talk to Him.

Have you ever been thinking
about somebody that you haven't seen in a long
time and then next thing you know you see them
or receive a phone call from them? THAT'S
GOD. There is no such thing as coincidence.

Have you ever received
something wonderful that you didn't even
ask for, like money in the mail, a debt that
had mysteriously been cleared, or a coupon
to a department store where you had just
seen something you needed, but couldn't
afford? THAT'S GOD knowing the desires
of your heart.

Have you ever been in a situation
and you had no clue how it was going to get better,
how the hurting would stop, how the pain would
ease, but now you look back on it . ..
THAT'S GOD passing us through tribulation to

see a brighter day.

Do you think that this e-mail was
accidentally sent to you?
NO!
I was thinking of you! !

Keep this going. You have no idea
which one of Your e-mail buddies could use
a little hope today

Dear God...

Iknow you're watching over me
And I'm feeling truly blest
For no matter what I pray for
You always know what's best!

I have this circle of E-mail friends,
Who mean a lot to me;
Some days I "send" and "send,"
At other times, I let them be.

I am so blessed to have these friends,
With whom I've grown so close;
So this little poem I dedicate to them,
Because to me they are the "Most"!

When I see each name download,
And view the message they've sent;
I know they've thought of me that day,
And "well wishes" were their intent.

So to you, my friends, I would like to say,
Thank you for being a part;
Of all my daily contacts,

This comes right from my heart.

God bless you all is my prayer today,
I'm honored to call you "friend";
I pray God will keep you safe,
Until we write again

Believe it or not being in the red is a good thing - at least as far as the IRS needs to know. Hmm heavy rum - sounds great. Make mine a triple when your mail order starts up. It's easy put it in the box and ship - just add enough to the price for postage and trip to the post office. People do it here all the time. Did I say I live in a small town?

Try the mom and pop restaurants they love showing off specialty items.

I am the 1 in 3 million who actually like fruit cake. Hope you get into those for the holidays and will be shipping by then - by the way did I say rum would be good!!!

YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!

Mswalk,

Congratualtions on taking a step in faith Sometimes when we aren't sure if we can do it/get through it we just have to step out in faith. What a wonderful thing God has given us!

Now I have a question for anybody with an answer: I used to get emails when things were posted for the boards that I read. Now I don't, since the weekend. Any idea of how to fix this?

Thanks in advance,

Michele

I am not getting them either - looks like we have a few bugs in the system - but I'm not complaining - it is super fast.

Guess we just have to hang in there!!!!!

This is the only thread to which I subscribe, and I'm getting the email notifications. I've seen others are having the problem, though. You might try unsubscribing them one at a time and re-subscribing, and make sure the option chosen for notification is instant. That's what mine says.
I think some settings may have gotten lost in the transfer. I do know I had problems subscribing to a forum, and not getting the messages. But the thread one seems to work okay. Hope this helps, but no guarantees. There are a lsome posts in the computer help forum about this situation.

Post Hellooooo

Hi to all,
Just deopped by to see what was up! No one posting . So I guess I will. I am loving the business life but I been sitting around depressed for so long. I am having a hard time getting the energy to accomplish my task. I am up at 4am (that's normal) and by noon I am drained. Thats not good when you have got things to do . I was so tired on my visit I found myself falling to sleep . I am really not one to sleep during the day or in a public place I don't care how tired I am. If any one has an Idea on how I can get going please let me know.
I hope everyone is OK. Hope that your loved ones are ok also . Although I don't always have time to post I do check in to see how you all are doing. I am missing you guys! I will check in again soon .
MUCH LUV TO Y'ALL!

MsWalk,

I am one that loves my sleep. The only thing that seems to get me out of bed now is knowing that "This is the day the Lord has made." As silly as that seems if I remind myself of that verse when I would rather go back to sleep it gets me motivated. Good luck!!

Michele

I am new to this site also. My son is in Albion for 2 1/2-12 on drug charges. I too went through years of wondering what I did wrong. He has been in and out of trouble since he was 14. He is now 26. He has been gone for over 1 1/2 years now and I haven't seen him since he was in county. He is my youngest of 2 sons and I miss him with all my soul. I went through the counseling, not sleeping. I don't fear for his safety but I do fear for his future. He has 3 beautiful children that have hardly had a chance to know him. I guess I just don't understand the hold a drug can have on someone that they would choose that over their children. I have given him unconditional love for all these years. Why didn't he show that to his children and put them first not the DRUG? I miss him so much sometimes it's hard to function. No matter what I say or do, he just goes back for more. I get so frustrated. This is his first time in a state facility and people tell me, maybe this will be his last. I wish I could believe. Thank you for letting me vent!

Susie,

You will find a lot of support here for we have all lost our children to something. We are also going through the same situation, a life without our sons/daughters for a season. I know the unknown and the if's can send out brains into tail spins. My son will be home soon and I don't listen to the what if he does this or what if he does that; the only way I get by day to day is to stand on the fact he will come home a respectful adult who makes good choices and is a godly man. I think some people believe I am being unrealistic or in a fantasy world but this is what I stand on as truth. May God bring you peace.
