Default Tennessee Prison For Women

Because each prison is a little different, I thought those of us with knowledge about phones, mail, visitation, quirky rules, etc. at a certain prison could post in each prison's thread to give new people some much needed information. Please post any information you have about TPW in this thread.

Thanks!

Hi Jennifer , Congragulations...It sounds like your doing great ! My daughter is 25 yrs old and she is going to prison in TN soon and I have a million questions and concerns. Her legal problems all stem from drinking and driving, driving, and violations of state probations. She has been on life support 4 times in the past 3 years from 3 car wrecks and 1 suicide attempt.Almost every bone in her body has been broke and now has physical and mental problems. Can you tell me what tn prison is really like for women and I would love to have any advice that you can give her.Thank You so much for your post, please help me if you can...THANKS psalms27

Hi Jennifer, congratulations as well. My sister is 46 (I am 43/female) and she was transferred today from Knox County Jail. I just found her. I am in Knoxville also. We are a very strong christian family that is struggling with the situation. If there is any information/insight you could provide it would be such a blessing. God Bless You for posting. I hope you are still here.

hey jen. my name is chris. i have gotten my buns in a mess. i was arrested for dui and when i went to court i had some pills hidden on my body. during my strip search they were discovered and now i am headed for the tennessee prison for women. as a forty-four-year-old woman i should have known better but i thought i could get away with it. i think i will get five years. could you please tell me what to expect, what i will be facing? when reported for my 48 hours i was strip searched and the drugs found. i know i will face a strip search but could you please tell me what else i will face behind bars? thank you so much. chris at (e-mail removed per site policy, please use private messaging)]

Hi. I'm corresponding with an inmate named Ashlee Sellars. Red-haired woman with thick, black glasses. Do you know her? What's your opinion of her?

Smile Packages

I know that depending on an inmates security classification (ie...minimum, maximum) determines how often they can receive packages from suppliers. If it's maximum, it's every 6 months. If it's minimum, it's every 3 months.

I'm coming down from Ohio to do ministry in a couple weeks. Where is an inexpensive hotel/motel near (15-20 min) there? Thanks

Where are you doing your ministry? In Nashville at the TPFW? If so, Alexis Inn & Suites about 7 miles from TPFW but worth it. Just hop right on Briley Pwy from TPFW get off on Opryland or Elm Hill Pike. Anything around the airport/opryland area(find online specials). Also, anywhere Marriott affiliated..Stay away from cheap motels around the Trinity Lane area (slimy) that are closer to the prison.
