So I went to visit my Granma the other day to introduce her to my newest bundle of wiggles. At her house I found a picture of me 10 years ago..and man was I ever HOT!!! I have this pic now and am about to blow it up to put on my fridge..because that is some major motivation...And Storm...I have a huge mouth..good for cheering.. Good luck over the holidays everyone!!

Wow, beautiful girls JustHeather! No wonder you're showing them both off.

And that's a great idea with the picture on the fridge. I might just borrow that one for myself.

Can I join as well? I guess I should buy a scale, I prefer not to know most of the time. But RJ was telling me what he weighed and I think it is less than me. So I feel as if I should get in to better shape.

The more the merrier, Patriotslover.

I didn't weigh myself for a lot of years, but I bought a scales last Christmas as a present to myself and a promise that I'd get into better shape. Seeing those pounds slip away one by one is a fantastic incentive to keep trying hard.

My honey weighs almost exactly what I do at the moment, and he's 10 inches taller. For me that's also a great incentive to see those numbers dropping.

starting weight 166(11.1.06)
current weight 157 (12.28.06)
No change

1st target 150
big target 125

As much as I ate this past week, this was a nice surprise this morning.

Patriotslover welcome, the more the better... I try and only weigh myself once a week now so I don't have to freak out daily and seeming to work I have to agree Storm seeing the pounds slip away is great incentive that and knowing I have to check in each week... you guys are keeping me on track

I'm not going all out until the 1st. That is the date my friend and I agreed upon to start our journey..then on the first we are going to take each others picture and write down our goals. Then every month we will take another picture to mark our progress, so once we are down to our goal weight, we can see how far we've come. Also, there is a web site, www.myvirtualmodel.com and you can go there to make a virtual model of yourself now and at your goal weight..its kinda fun..anyway...hope everyone had a great Christmas and has a great new year...and may the best of your past in 2006 be the worst of your future in 2007..later ladies!

I'm posting a bit late because I was in my sister's, but my weigh-in was pretty much on time.

Starting Weight: 160 (10.14.06)
Current Weight: 151 (12.28.06)
9lb lost
1st Target: 147
Big Target: 126

I didn't go too mad over Christmas, and I'm so pleased now I can see that first target closing in!

Looking forward to next Wednesday already.

Well done with not gaining this week, Snoopie and amazing work js -- losing a pound over Christmas is not easy to do!

Welcome chinagrl, looking forward to your Monday post. You must be really excited about getting started with the New Year.

Questar, I think you're right to get all your tools lined up so to speak before you start. For me this weight loss has more to do with my mental attitude than with what I actually do. I know I've eaten less and exercised more in the past and not lost even a single pound. Now I'm ready and really enjoying the rush of watching that scale slide back pound by pound.

Welcome jlw, I'm looking forward to watching your progress! Wow, 1200 is a very strict regime -- but I see that you have a big deadline on the way. I know you'll do really well.

This is a great group! It's definitely all the support here that's helping me to keep going.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I didnt weigh myself today. I'm going based off my weight last week.

Current weight: 191 (as of 12/26/06)
First target: 185
Major target: 140

I"m going to cut out all the fast food I eat daily, and start fixing food at home, I cant cook, I know that is sad to say, but this is a new year so i'm going to learn (please dont laugh at me ) ).

See you guys next week!!!!!!! Everyone is doing a great job!!!!!

Glad you're on board, china. You picked a smart first goal -- you'll feel really good about yourself when you hit that.

And learning to cook is a great goal for this year! I'll bet it'll be lots of fun. My goal this year is not just to get skinny but to get healthy, which is going to be a lot harder to do.

Looking forward to watching your progress.

Welcome, qwerty!

I get a huge amount of support in this group -- I'm sure you will too. I started a year ago today at 177lbs. I've been smiling all day to think that I've almost hit the 30lb lost milestone.

How is Medifast working for you? I know some people who have had great results, but I could never stick to it well enough to see any real results.

Height: 5'5
Short term goal: 181
Long term goal: 150
Starting weight on 12/17/06:199

Current weight on 1/1/07: 195.4

Maybe if I commit to posting these numbers with others support it will kind of be like Weight Watchers meetings. I did well in Weight Watchers awhile back until I gained two weeks in a row, but I have to do this for myself. Thanks in advance for the support. And good luck to all on your goals. And Happy New Years!!

thanks for the welcome! Congrats on making that milestone!!

Medifast has been going real good, I'm starting week 4. I've been able to stick to it pretty well only because you lose so fast. It has more food choces than it used to and a really good support board where they show you how to make the food taste better LOL.

After I reach my goal, I'll probably switch to Weight Watchers for maintenance -- more do-able for the long haul.

Maybe if I commit to posting these numbers with others support it will help me to commit to this weight loss. I feel really bad and Im tired of buying fat clothes. So thanks in advance for the support. I hope everyone does well on their goals. Happy New Year.
