FiNALLY there's some transportation for us living in the capital district. but this was posted only for November so i dont know if it will continue on or not. this was in the timesunion yesterday and i just wanted to share it with u all.

Visits for:

Saturday Nov 5th - Mount McGregor, Washington and Great Meadow

Saturday Nov 12th and 26th - Coxsackie, Greene and Hudson

The F&M Bus picks up in Albany also. @ exit 24. I would Call to find out when to meet them there. Cause I used them Saturday night for a sunday visit. And He was an hour late picking me up and a half hour early dropping me off. So I have to stand on the side of the thruway. Other then that was good.

Yall know can't nuthin keep a good woman down, especially when it comes to her man -- I found a service so I'm good -- Lucky's. I used them before so we go back. Just had to look in my old address books. When ya man is down you gotta keep ALL of your bus and van numbers because with so many always going back, you never know when you'll have to go back doing the time with him.

Free bus runs in syracuse. I could give you the number for Deacon Mason (of Family services in Albany and NYC) and you could call him to find out when the next bus from syracuse goes to your facility

If you check the other transportation threads in here you may find some companies that many people have tried from syracuse but there aren't much coming from the syracuse area besides the free buses, people driving and or other local alternatives. you could post a thread for wanting to share a ride i the particular hub you're in (i.e. Clinton, Sullivan etc...) If you go to the NEW YORK Forum--> Prisons and jails--> YOUR PARTICULAR HUB I'm pretty sure you'll find something or someone

unity goes to the SHU visits. they irk me tremendously, mainly bec they gouge you 50 bucks for the visit and get u there when the visits start so it your man doesnt come down until after 6pm. i think i hate them. and i will tell it like it 'tis with this service every time someone brings up the Greene Shu visits GRRRRRRR

hi i live in nyc and i know there alot of info from ny gals, i was just wondering if any had any info on buses up to connecticut, im trying to get to cheshire correction instituition up in cheshire ct. i was just taking a long shot and checking if anyone in the ny forum had any info or phone number for transportation. since the ct forum is like a ghost town i cant get no darn info from the ct section lol

I seriously doubt that you would be able to get a bus to go CT. What you may have to do is take a regular bus like Greyhound to CTand then get to the facility. Good luck.

Metro North goes to Conneticut but then I am not sure how you would continue your trip.... Maybe call the facility and ask , you never know maybe it is just a cab ride away from the station.
