Notice to new members intending to register - from January 9th 2012

I am the adult child of a prisoner; incarcerated for 20+ years. I am beginning the process of attempting to get to know my father as an adult and seeing him for the first time in 15+ years. I am looking to connect with other adult children of prisoners and share what their experience has been like if they have in fact maintained or re-established relationships with their parent.

i'm not in this situation but i just wanted to wish you well in getting to know your father.. remember even though he is where he is... he is your dad and try to open your heart to him and see how things go... you may just be his savior while he's in there and give him the reason to keep on going when things seem to bleek.
best of luck to you and getting to know him.. not just his situation.
