Unhappy William 'Junior' Downs, South Carolina RIP
William 'Junior' Downs was executed today, at 6:00pm EDT after his request that all his appeals be dropped. Mr. Downs declined to make a last statement and was pronounced dead at 6:17pm. May William Downs now rest in peace, and my thoughts go out to any loved ones he may have.

This whole story is so tragic, clearly Mr. Downs had some significant problems, clearly he wanted to die for what he had done. I feel so badly for all of the family members, those of the victims, and Mr. Down's family. Reading witnesses on both sides were grieving makes it all the more awful, clearly this execution accomplished nothing other than brining more grief and pain to everyone involved.
