Default New to forum from kansas (a little long)
Hi my name is Tessa I'm 25 , I hope this is the right place to post ,my story is a little long and boring but for my own mental health I have to get it out . Arlo (my husband) and I have known each other since we were children , I was friends with his sister she died five years ago in a car accident. Last year we hooked up after he got out of bootcamp, he's been in the system since he was 18. I guess you can say we were meant to be together we had an awesome two months together before he got thrown in jail for pv's he sat in county for 2 months the orginal sentance of a year was imposed and was sent to EDCF because of time served he got out in three days and came home in time for christmas. We got married on March 28th He was off paper and things were great , in March after we got married he was popped for possession of marijuana and on July 22 he was sentaced again to corrections 12 months with no adminstartive sancations , he knew it meant he couldn't screw up and he did he wouldn't check in with his po , he first ua was dirty for meth , they got him on an arrest an detain and he's in county again waiting for the origainl suspened sentance of 15 months. We just found out were 2 months pregnant, I feel like I want to die i don't really know anything about the prison system in kansas and woulw like to meet people who know more about it.. I just wanted to welcome you to PTO and I am so glad you found us. I don't personally know anything about Kansas prisons but I am sure others do and will come along and give you some guidance. Onced again welcome to the family and keep us posted. And congrats on the new baby!!!!!!

Welcome to PTO!!

My man is in LEavenwoth Prison Camp..I think its pretty alright but it's nothing compared to whats next door so I guess it depends on where your man ends up.

I just had a baby and my man has only seen him 2 times..it gets really hard...if you need ANYTHING just let me know.

Hi Tessa, and welcome to PTO!

Do you know where your husband will be going to serve his sentence? My boyfriend Shawn is at El Dorado CF...so if need be, I can give you some answers about that facility in particular.

Your husband will have the original sentence imposed of 15 months but they will credit him with the time he did do on the "street" as probation .They will impose the 15 months and credit him good time, so his stay should not be that long. Whatever good time credit he gets he will have to probably do that on parole which will be less than a month if even that.So he will be home soon.

Hey Tessa In Garden City,

Glad you found PTO. Congrats on the new little one! There was a time when I felt I just wanted to die too, right after my husband went back for the 4th time in 3 and a half years. Even his kids and siblings tell me I should get a divorce, but I love him. The good news is I don't feel like I want to die anymore! And you'll be glad you didn't, (die, that is) probably about the time you feel that baby kick! HA! You'll be happy for life, your life and the life of your child regardless of what your husband has done. It's just bad choices on their part, not yours. I know my husband has a recurring drug problem too and I think someday he'll learn but nonetheless I still love him. You'll be okay Tessa!!! And Anytime you want to talk let me know. I was born in Garden City but live in Hutchinson now! God Bless!

Hey girl......I was born and raised in Garden City and moved to Emporia to go to school in the Fall of 2002. My ex also grew up most of his life in Garden and was incarcerated in Lansing until September 3 of this year. He and I are no loger together, but still talk and are best friends. Hey Tessa,

Congrats on the baby hope that all goes well with your husband. I used to live in Kansas too. I don't know if I know you or not but I might. I am 23 my little brother just got sentenced to 2 years in prison. Long story. But if you would like to share stories I am a great listener and a talker haha. Keep your head high and it will be ok.
