Default The C/O's are picketing NCCI

Raven just told me there is a big ruckus at NCCI. The c/o's are demanding less inmates and more c/o's. More pay. If they need less inmates they can let my man go.

They're making more money for the little bit of education and training of anyone I know. It is nothing but an overpaid babysitting job. I do agree with too many inmates though so let them go. Things like this can work in our favor.

In Ohio it averages to about 13.00 hour plus benefits. I am hoping it works to our benefit we will see. They decided to picket because the acreditation people are there all week. I'll bet the warden is po'd

Oh well for him/her (warden). Is any news media picking up on this?

If not, someone should probably notify them.

I see nothing of it, googling the news for Ohio Correctional Officers. Anyone want to get the ball rolling?

It also states that the number of inmates statewide has increased by 1,574 from a year ago while the number of corrections officers has declined by 112.
Ummmm, did they ever consider the fact that there are a lot of people that are innocent in there, and wrongly accused, but took pleas due to bullying tactics by Prosecutors and lazy lawyers?

I'm glad that they are bringing attention to the issue of overcrowding but I hope that this might also bring attention to the fact that our incarceration rates are sky-high while our crime rates have fallen over the past decade.

I personally spoke to a c/o and asked how much money they made. It is $16.82 per hour FYI

Default Anyone fighting a Cuyahoga Co wrongful conviction?

I'm curious if people who have Cuyahoga wrongful convictions with excessive sentences and are making investigation progress are having an unusual number of very unusual and sometimes pretty awful things big and small happen to them. I keep getting the feeling that while it would be illegal for them to come right out and tell me to stop investigating this case, they are doing all they can to make it difficult and intimidating for me to try to fight my friends wrongful conviction. For a long time it seemed like maybe I was just having an awful lot of bad luck and the things that were happening were just unpleasant or annoying but some of the stuff over the course of the last year is so bizarre that the likelihood that it is all just coincidence must be nearly statistically impossible.

Also if you are in such a situation it, it is very important to avoid the tiniest infraction. Don't keep doses of prescription medicine in a pill box carry the actual presciption bottles and make sure they have the current labels. Don't keep expired or unmarked or in any way questionable prescriptions in your home. Be careful about the wording you use in discussing questionable behavior by government officials in case they turn it around and call it intimidation. If you should have to file or ever had to file bankruptcy make sure that your records are carefully and completely maintained. Watch for legal filings relevant to your case that are minimized with a copier and mailed like a "junk mail" flyer in hopes you will not read them or not see them and miss a filing deadline or suffer a legal setback through a technicality.

I have had car breakins, odd phone calls, odd issues with the suggestion that my phone is periodically tapped. I always have a phone or cell phone in reach and I keep everything locked.

If you find yourself in a situation like this I have found that it is helpful to review the other questionable cases of the same officials. In many cases there are patterns of how these individuals work to create an illusion of guilt and a lot of the lesser facts of the case when followed up on may turn out to have been entirely misrepresented.

I recommend the online publication North Country Gazette at www.northcountrygazette.org which discusses in detail some of the current trends in the methods of judges, prosecutors and attorneys.

Also a good way to keep up on Ohio sentencing laws and avoid the rumor mill is the site of Douglas Berman an Ohio based law professor at the folowing URL http://sentencing.typepad.com/senten...aw_and_policy/

I believe that all of those things are possible in Ohio. I personally know if you have information about agencies or officials that thay will try to discredit the person. The best and easiest way to do that is to make them a felon. I also believe that thay do tap phones.
