Default violations/marion county indiana

I would like to know if anyone of you have had any court dealings with Marion County on violation of probation. It is out of court room 20.My husband signed a plea agreement of 3 to 6 years But at the time of sentencing the judge gave him 10 years with 0 excuted 10 years suspended. And given two years probation He would have been off probation 3/10/2008. He violated by leaving the state, and got a new charge. I know that there are hardly ever two cases the same. And if there is anyone that has gone thru something like our case please tell me how much time was given Waiting and worring about the outcome is the hardest of all. THANKS

My son was sentenced out of court room 20 and Judge Young. Don't remember him as being particularly large. He was on probation with 19 years back up and through circumstances that are still a sore point got his probation violated. He could have gotten the 19 back. Our attorney "negotiated" the 19 off and he got 6 do 3 with modification as an option. Judge Young has a reputaton of being tough among the inmates but our attorney liked him and said he was fair and liked to see people make the most of their time and reward them for good behavior. Someone else may come along with some experience that can help you as well.

tigrldy, thank you very much for the info. Im praying that we will get a good deal too. He had less than a year and he would have been done. He is also on parole He called me yesterday and he said that he was told that Indiana was picking him up in the next two days. And was taking him to doc. I seen on the offender locator that he has a release date of 5/17/2007. Will he be released then for his probation violation? THANKS

Unless something happens, the offeneder data base shows the earliest possible release date so yes it sounds to me like he could be released on that date. You never totally know but it is supposed to update daily. My son's had one date on it, he passed theGED and overnight it dropped 6 months. I will say a little prayer. Every time I see someone with a release date or something good happening it gives me increased hope.

He will probably have an initial court date in a few days, and Marion County sometimes has serious overcrowding problems and does some strange things, but since you say this is for a probation violation and you posted earlier was initially out of Court Room 20 I would guess the chance of a bond is slim to nil on a probation violation. The initial court appearance should most likely be Monday or Tuesday. They are usually very quick on the 1st appearance-or at least they used to be. Hopefully it goes easy on you both.

Have you tried the Marion County Inmate Search link. I've posted the link address here. It also shows as MCSD but I actually typed in Marion County Inmate Search.

You indicated you had been trying all day. I wasn't sure if this is where you were searching. Eight hour drive-sounds like someone is slow at getting the information out there.

Court Room 20 and Judge Young is really harsh. I have had many friends to go through that court room and been so disappointed with the results. My "Brother" waited in Marion County for 18 months to be sentenced and got 20 years do 10 flat. He was only credited like 6 months for the entire time he was in the county. He never got in trouble or anything. He was really upset but I know he was told if he violates when he gets out which his earliest possible release date isnt until 2014, that he would do the rest of his time flat. Crazy huh?
