Can someone please tell me about MECC

? Like can they smoke there, how are the visits, is it a laid back facilty? Any info will be appreciated. My husband is being moved there from Algoa and he has been in the hole for 2 weeks there. They found out that he has a charge pending

and uped his security level. So he will be going to MECC next week. They said he was more of a flight risk now

, he has been there for 2 months(2 weeks in the hole) but still he has not been in any trouble, nor gave them any trouble, I just don't understand the rules

. Anyways, I am so glad that you lady's are here for us to get info from and get support, thank you all so very much

I don't know much about MECC other than where it is! I know it's a level 3 and it's pretty laid back. I don't know about smoking, but most places allow it. There is a huge yard for them with a track. I've heard it's pretty laid back as far as visiting also. Other than that, I don't know much about it and can't think of anyone off hand that has someone there....that will make you our resident MECC expert!

My boyfriend is at MECC. He says it's pretty laid back. Yes they can smoke. They have a nice gym and track. They rent PPV movies for them on the weekends and they can come and go from their cells as they wish. They can make late night phone calls until 1 am on friday and sat nights. Let me know what wing the put him in. Becki

Hey girl,

I had a friend that did most of his time there. He never complained about. If I remember right he did about 6 years there and he said that it was better then some of the other camps that he had been too. I know the visiting room there was really nice.. you could go out side in this little closed off area were you could at least get some freash air.. you still could not smoke in the visit, but it was still nice to be able to get the fresh air...... Hang in there girl its just about over!!!!!

and today was OUR lucky day

my son was just moved there from fulton,i probably will go see him once during his stay there as his release date max is may 2008.i live in louisiana and it's an 8 hour drive there minimum.i have relatives and in laws in northern missouri i go see also about yearly.

so any info on this facility would be helpful to me also.

My boyfriend is at Algoa now (he comes home in one week!), but he used to be at MECC. He always talks about how much better MECC is than Algoa. One thing I know for sure is that he could call me A LOT more often at MECC. If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me!
