It all sounds perfectly grisly.

I hope his suffering is over now. I hope everyone's suffering can now find closure.

I agree with Dave. I read about this and it makes me physically ill. All executions do, but this is horrid.

I remember seeing him talk on an episode of Lockup. He still believed in the death penalty even though he was on death row. He said that he deserved to die.

"I think the death penalty is proportional to the crime for which I was convicted," said Holton. "I'm not going to change my views just because I am facing it."

One victims' rights advocate said she didn't like the idea of using the chair to execute people, even though Holton certainly deserved death.
"I wish that they would only have lethal injection," said Verna Wyatt of You Have the Power. "I don't think that the execution is about vengeance. It's about justice, and I personally do not see any reason to have a horrific death even though he committed a horrific act.
"I think it's incredibly sad that we have to have the death penalty, but Daryl Holton murdered four little kids. And the law is that if you step over the line of human decency the death penalty is an option, and he certainly fits that criteria."

Hhmmm, vengeance it is. you can't wrap it up nicely by having a "clean" lethal injection as oppose to a "messy" electrocution.
