At first I thought something had happened to him, but I have been told that is not the reason. I have also been told that this is not part of his work release program. I dont know why he was sent here. Could he be getting sent out somewhere else even though he will be work released shortly? He has been granted this by the board of parole already why would they move him anywhere, but out completely? Any thoughts would help. Thanks...
i dont know a whole lot about the whole system.. but if something had happened to him they would probably send him to Clarinda. maybe they are transfering him for his work release. not sure though..

Default Personal Property

Does anyone know what they can take down to IMCC? I thought there would be a list somewhere, but I can not find one. I know about the phone and adding funds to accts.

Hmm... I think they can have a plain wedding band and one religious necklace (cross, etc). Are you talking about when they first check into IMCC or what kind of things they can buy/ what you can send to them?

All my husband was allowed was his wedding band.

my boyfriend is being sent to oakdale from oregon. does anyone know where he will be sent after this. it is for a first offense probation violation, so he would most likely be low-risk. and also i saw they offer treatment programs instead of prison. any info on this? if they send you straight to treatment or if you have to serve some time first.?

they will classify him in Oakdale, and then determine where he will go. They determine which prison is right for him, by the amount of time he has, the charges, and all sort of things. If he needs treatment that is offered in certain prisons, and is usually a wait list to get into those programs.

Default Mail going to inmates at IMCC

[quote=Binky's Gal;300182]Hi All I just recieved this imfo, Thought I would post for anyones future reference. I know I would of liked to of seen this stuff earlier.

Here you are:

IOWA MEDICAL AND CLASSIFICATION CENTER RECEPTION PROGRAM

I want to tell you that the address has changed. I made the mistake of using the PO BOX that is above and since this post the Postal service has made the IMCC change the address. Good news is that the letter will get to the inmate if you have their ID number and full name on the envelope and your return address and full name on it too. It will just take a bit longer to get there. I want ppl to know the new address is
IMCC
2700 Coral Ridge Ave
Coralville Iowa
52241

I want to add this because I wrote to my bf there first using this old info. bummer it took almost 4 days extra....Thanks!

Default Help

I have two questions,
1. How many pictures can I send in at once, is there a limit?
2. Do I have to write anything on the back of the pictures, like his name/number or anything?

Hi Dajana, to PTO and the Iowa forums. I am not aware of any limit on the number of photographs you can send. That being said, while he is at IMCC reception you may want to limit the number just because he probably doesn't have much secure storage space for them. You do not have to write anything on the back, but you can if you want to. Be careful not to send any pictures with "hand signs" or very revealing photos. He will not get them and will have to send them back to you at his own expense, or have them destroyed.
