I am wondering if there is anyone with a loved one from Rhode Island Prison who is looking for an interstate compact to Florida Prison. There are contact visits ther at Cross City Correctional Institute. My friend has 8 yrs to serve left on his 16 yr sentence and is hoping to return closer to MA where his family is. Thank You

I hope you know that it is difficult to get a transfer under the Interstate Compact Agreement. They have all this dumb "criteria" you have to meet, and then it is a pain in the butt trying to obtain the various approvals. Of course, first you have to find a state worker who will put the paperwork together. That is nearly impossible by itself. Keep hounding the state officials and you may have a chance. As they say, the squeaky wheel gets greased.

I would be shocked out of my socks if you found someone to leave RI prison for a FL prison. There is a big difference in the ease of the bid....good luck tho

The Interstate Compact Agreement is for transferring upon Parole...does NOT function as a transfer During incarceration.
