Default Brother offered position at CMC...questions?

My brother was offered a poistion at CMC in food services. He asked me to ask people on the outside if this is a good idea.
Does anyone know about working there? I'm kinda leary for him. The last "great" postion he had was working in segregation and he said it sucked! Lots of death threats, throwing food, feces, ect. and what not. He wants to get out of Noble really bad, but I'm just afraid that the system is setting him up for another disasterous job. Any info about inmates working at the Medical center would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Willy

Thumbs up Cmc

My son has been at CMC for over a year now. He is preparing for Transitional Control next month. He also spent time at Noble a few years ago. If your loved one has been offered a Cadre position at CMC, I would suggest he take it. There are only about 200 inmates there and it is clean and quiet. Because it is a medical center, it seems to be much more humane. It is climate controlled, i.e, heat and a/c. Everyone I have talked with there, his case manager, the visitation staff, etc. have all been very helpful and pleasant. They have many family activities if your loved has a child. And of course, if you live near Columbus the visitation is so much easier. I live in CA but when I went to Columbus for Christmas I was able to get my visitation cleared at the last minute to visit with him while I was home.

Please feel free to PM me with any questions.

I agree with LA Mom. What would you have to worry about working in the kitchen at CMC?? Not much of anything that I know of. I would think that would be a job he can't refuse to take!

Thank you for answering, both of you! I gave my brother the messages and he took the position. He was moved there 2 days ago (I just found out today). He likes the dorm a lot better and although he hasn't begun his job yet, says that he has already met more people than he had in 6 months at Noble. He also said that staff was way nicer than at Noble. I hope he does ok at his job. Again, thank you for your responses!

Thanks for the update willipinkl -- I'm glad it worked out to be better for your brother.
