I am in Springfield and my fiance is in SCCC in Licking, MO. I am wanting to find an officiant for our wedding (it isn't necessary at SCCC as the Chaplain WILL do it there, but it is something that we would like) and I have no idea how to get started on finding someone in Texas County. Any ideas on where to start looking?

he has to go to the chaplain and get an application he fills some of it out, sends it to you to fill out your part then you send it back to the required address NOT TO YOUR FIANCE' ! they will tell you the date within 90 days. you go and apply for the official license and pay for it and the chaplain can tell you the minister that is usually used. if you want any guests they have to be on his visitors list and the ring has to be plain and cost under 100.00. hope that helps!!!

I wanted to add what I've found out about Tipton Correctional Center and their current marriage process. They do allow marriages twice a year (October and April) but they are currently suspended because the Moniteau county recorder will not go in to the prison the do the part of the paperwork with the inmates to get the marriage license done. They seem to be suspended indefinitely if the recorder won't do his part, but the person I talked to at Tipton was most hopeful that they would be able to resume in October.
