Default Corruption...i Need Serious Help!!!!

My fiance just caught a charge here, we pretty much know what we are facing. He also has a warrant for failure to appear for a speeding ticket in another parish here, we are in LA. And also a warrant for "questioning" in the same parish. How will these be dealt with? Will he be able to take care of them while he serves his time here? The warrant for questioning is because of an allegation the Sheriff's son in that parish made, (kinda a wierd and corrupt parish if you ask me). The sheriff has his son working as a supervisor for his work release inmates that he uses at his "private" prison. And gave his daughter-in-law a job there also, I know this can't be legal by any means. How can the sheriff even investigate this allegation? And is there anyone I can turn to? Things just don't seem right to me, especially since the Sheriff practically owns everyone in a position of authority there, or they are so scared of him that they are afraid to speak out. What should I do???

I dont' know what you can do, but if it was me, I would start with the FBI. Tell them what is going on and what recourse you have or who you should contact to start an investigation.
As far as your fiance goes, his attorney can deal with the outside warrants.
Good luck

There are generally seperate organizations that investigate public corruption. It may be the local DA, the attorney general, or in rare cases the DOJ.

He will likely be transported to face the other warrants while he is in custody. The hold for "questioning" sounds like a material witness warrant. That is usually issued after someone fails to appear at an official proceeding. Most likely someone will go to him to "question" him so long as they know he is in custody.

They know he's in custody alright, I'm just kinda scared as to what they're going to do to him when they do get him there. They don't tend to do things by the book there.

Thank God some things never change.

Louisiana is still corrupt. I find that reassuring, somehow.

I don't find it amusing at all that Louisiana is corrupt. I find it very harmful to the GOOD people who live here.

Default Corruption is everywhere

I live in the great state of GA.
My husband was arrested for a probation violation, and is now currently serving his time. He was held in a backwoods county jail for 4 months, before being transferred to state. If it were not for a medical problem, he would probally still be there. You see, the sheriff of this little southern town, has been in power for almost 2 decades, and at the same time my husband was in there, the sheriff was on felony probation himself, for an insurance scandle. They shared the same P.O. My husbands P.O. told him he was going to make sure he did not get out early. The P.O. pretty much controlled the sheriff. And as far as the sheriff, not many people knew about him because he had been sheriff for so long, that everyone who supported him tried to keep it hush-hush. So you see that corruption is everywhere. There are good people who get treated unfairly, and there are bad people who get away with anything. It's all about who you know and how much you are worth.

It's better if he has a lawyer.

The appellate courts are an entirely different animal than the trial courts--definitely no place for amateurs.

Good luck,

FD
