When you hit your CR date,do you still have to goto a board and get approved for release?

Is there anything that can hold you back?

I always thought CR was a definite date?
I never went that far..I always got out way before

If you are not released by the Parole Board, once you hit around 85%(I think) of your sentence max you may be released by conditional release. The Time Allowance Commitee(Consisting of prison staff)will go over your prison jacket usually 4 months before said date. They will look at your behavior while incarcerated, tickets, programs etc...to determine if you earned "good time" off your maximum sentence.

From what I have heard, it's NOT definate, but very possible to be released if you program(manditory and optional the more the better) and also as long as you don't get no major tickets(tier 3)...
