Default Having a hard time standing tall and straight

My husband is Lakota incarcerated in Springfield, SD. I am an Ojibwe living in Wisconsin. I am having a very hard time...the lonliness at times feels unbearable. I have stopped writing him......I have run out of words..I go to ceremonies and pray so hard.....I feel imprisoned with him.....I feel all his letters are just words..he needs to prove himself...he was on parole and violated. Plus I have custody of our Grandson...his daughters child. I am still standing straight and tall...it gets harder every day. I feel numb to any words of love.
I look to anyone whose in my shoes for help or anyone else.
How can a man expect a woman to keep waiting and waiting and waiting? He has done a total of 15 years and now to be locked up again.....he had 6 months left on parole....my heart and spirit are broken.....

Northwindwoman, reading your words i can feel your pain, and I'm so very sorry to hear this. I hope, you'll find here friends, with whom you can talk and maybe get a bit comfort. I have an Ojibwe "Grandmother" in Wi, and her words would be now: Pray, and lay your pains into our Creator's hands and trust in him".
You can pm me, if you like and talk. I embrace you.

One day you will no longer hurt and your spirit will be renewed. Continue to pray, it is the only way to heal.

Greetings Northwindwoman,

Welcome to PTO. You will find support here, there are so many who feel just as you do. Visit some of the other forums like Long Term offendors, Now That He Is Home etc... they are more active and I think you will feel better. I know it is frustrating for you, keep doing what you are doing, you have your grandchildren to take care of, keep going to the ceremonies, they are helping and take care of yourself first, you can't give when there is nothing else left to give.... Take care...
PS I have been living on the Navajo rez, one thing the women say in this situation, "Menzzz"
