Has anyone heard anything about the BOP releasing "rules" for the 2nd chance act? They had 90 days to interpret the law and that was today, July 9th. Any accurate information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi all, Ive been searching thru the threads on this info, but cant find what Im looking for.
1. Does this help a person without a drug convicition?
2. Does it help a person with a few felonies? None of which are for drugs.
3. Does this apply to people who were convicitied recently or who will be very soon.

Haven't seen any proposed rules yet. They would be published in the Federal Register under "Prison Bureau." Z.

Ok really I just want to know if the second chance act has gone into affect. If so what exactly does it do, how does it work and how do we go about getting it? myhusband is going crazy about it and I need all the info I can get>

My DH's current case manager told me that in their training on the Second Chance Act they were told that this legislation applies to very few inmates. Generally they are predisposed to not apply the SCA.
