Okay my man is in federal prison, and the address where you are supposed to send there money is in Des Moines, Iowa. But my mom said that Des Moines is under water. I just sent out a $100 money order the end of last week. Does anybody know if they are still getting there money? He doesn't have any money on his books so therefore he can't write me, or call me. Also the BOP says he's in transit and has said that for three days now, but he called me Friday and was In Longview, Tx at Gregg County Jail.(it was a free call) and he tried to call me yesterday but couldn't and I didn't catch where it said he was, but I think it was a county jail also but not the same one. How do I locate him? If it doesn't show where he is on the BOP? How do you find inmates in State jail or county jails?

Oh Babygirl,, I wish I had some answers for you. But I never had to deal with anything like that and have no idea where to start. One suggestion would be to call the last county jail he called you from and see if they can tell you where he has been relocated to. Good luck sweetie and I am so sorry you are having to deal with this. As far as the money goes I never send mine throught that Iowa address, takes to long to get it to them. I always just do it Western Union and they get it the same day.

My nephew was in federal prison for 10 months and he always got his money just fine. I live in Des Moines and things are back to normal around here. Actually, i never went a day without getting my mail. Also, as long as you have his BOP # his money will still get to him. You can also try the federal inmate locator just go to federalbureauofprisons.com and it will (should) tell you where he is.

I started using Jpay last year and found it really easy. If you have access to the Internet, which obviously you do, and a credit card then you're set. I find the funds are in their accounts within 24 hours of completeing the on-line transaction. I used to use funds transfer places like Western Union but they were slower than on-line.

Besides, with Jpay, you simply need to know their state and Inmate #, the system doesn't require you to specify where they are located.

Wow, isn't strange how in different place things are so much different? In Texas I use Western Union Quick Collect and she has the money on her account within the hour. Her mom has sent her money through the Iowa address and it has taken a week for her to have it.
