I have a pp there, he says the food goes from not so great (breakfast) to okay. Also that he quit going to church because the gangs have meetings there, also a good spot for sexual encounters...sorry, wish I had something better to report but it's prison.

My bf just came home from there on the 2nd.

The mail is cool you'll get most of your letters in good time. He claims its not that bad there I guess depending on where you live inside.

Visitation is was always great for me, you can wear Capris and open toe shoes. They have two rows for non-contact visits and in door and our door picnic tables for contact visits. You can go to the vending machines and much as you like so take lots of change. The visiting room guards are usually older or rookies for some reason and I think everytime I went the same lady checked me in. Shes nice and if there are not to be busy by the time you walk down the side walk she will be ready to take your id and you can go to the back. The non-contact phones that you will use suck and are usually broken but they will move you if you just tell them.

There is a lot I could tell you about the unit. I just don't know where to start.

It usually takes my letters 4 days to get there and 4 days to reach me.

When I visit, I stay at the hospitality house, lots of wonderful people stay there and it's very close to the prison, basically across the street.

There is one CO who works visitation who is a pain, but so far, out of all the ones I have encountered she has been the only difficult one I have had to deal with.

When I have problems I contact the wardens office and they take care of whatever the concern is. They have been good about this, although warden cook can be a real pain in the butt. Thank god he isn't the main warden.

If I need to get a message to my husband, I can always rely on Chaplin Sherman to help. He will do all he can to help.

Sunshine are talking about the fat lady who walks around with the paper and wears glasses? I hated her but the old man is really nice and so are the rookies the one time the fat lady wasnt there I got a 4 hr visit instead of 2.

You mean the one with blonde hair? Not her... this one is Short, skinny, older looks like an old man usually works the door lol.

I cringe when I see her in the back working in the actual visitation room.

She never ever ever spoke to us! We had to deal with her because she was taking pictures of the inmates. The old guy answered every single question for her. She looked up at us once and that was it..I guess she thinks herself above the rest of us. I don't know, but, whew! She much have a crappy life or something...lol..It was like we were talking to ourself..lol..That's okay, tho. I'm over it now, but hope she's not there next time...lol

I am so jealous. I wish I could visit sigh. I wont be able to get back out there until the spring, it really sucks.

The older man at visitation is always nice.

Hey Bit, this was our first visit out there. It's a haul from our house, but compared to where he has been I am grateful.. It's about 160 miles. How far do you go? The older man is very nice..

About 950 miles lol I am outside of Atlanta, GA. If I drive it averages about 17 to 20 hours. I try to fly as much as I can.

Most people dont know this but if the old man is checking you in and its not too full when you get there he will let you pick where you sit if you ask nicely. The one time I got a contact visit so my son could see my bf i told the old man exactly which table I wanted to sit so my son could be near the kiddie table and he just smiled and said ok. And if you figure out which guard is keeping track of visiting times (they usually have a small peice of paper in thier hands) and talk to them before your bf comes out you can get a little extra time as long as its not that fat mean lady shes just evil.

lol

So true. I always get to pick where I get. I always tell them a short table so we can actually hold hands while we visit. The long tables hurt my back.

Sometimes, they forget to tell you visit is over lol. We once visited for 4.5 hours . It was great.

I hate when the grumpy old lady I was referring to is in the back....she won't let you walk the guys to the check in desk, she makes you leave and them sit at the table. It really sucks. I like getting the extra hug damnit lol

my husband is there now. Is there any possible way to file for a conjugal visit with the TDCJ or is that wishful thinking?
