I just did some research and it seems that only a very small percentage of petitions are granted, about 30%, so the odds aren't in our favor

He tells me he will get it, because it's his first crime, and his sentence was only 2 years to begin with, and because he's so smart (was a med student) and because he's behaved..

Does anyone else NOT KNOW when their SO is getting out??? It's maddening not knowing!!! I know I have no control over this whatsoever so I should try to focus on the positive but some nights it is so hard

At least I'm not the only one...

Thanks for listening. *sigh*
I do not under the merit of that law. The reality is that the prisoner should not be required to petition for early release especially at 85% of the sentences. That is just no right

Blame old Bush buddy Tommy Thompson for that law.

My man has been in county for 101 days...waiting for a sentence. They say he could get alternative sentencing.....up to his full sentence 55-110 years for a first time offense of KNOWING that someone had used his computer to access cp. Not even accused of viewing it....anyway, he has no idea what is happening, he has been told that he will get a new trial, but that could mean that he is there for a looong time before the trial AND then sentenced......We are in a state of limbo...he is sick, scared and I AM LONELY and SCARED. So, there are many of us in situations that are crappy. I will keep you all in my thoughts, as always...Thank you all for the support here.

I'm not exactly sure of his release date... My ticker was my "questimate" based on good time and additional credits.

He was sentenced to 8 years in January so at most he'll serve 3 years 9 months.... Unless we are granted a sentence modification.

I know I am SO ready for him to come home - 3 years seems like such a long time (but granted, compared to many women, 3 years is NOTHING!)

I dont know when mine is getting out either and its so frusterating. He doesnt have a tpm but the parole board said they will be looking at his case next month sometime. Im worried because this is third failure in the united states and his fourth felony... Not to mention he could be concidered a flight risk if they look at his background. All i can do is hope and pray he gets out soon. If he maxes out he wont come home till 2015

My man's release date is in June 2011, but with good time he should be home this December. However, good time was stopped some time ago and no one with the state can tell us if, or when, it is coming back. Right now I am still saying December, but truth is, if it's June I am gonna be trippin.

My husband is in for anywhere from 7-15 years we still dont know im trying to be optimistic while he assumes hes going to serve 15 its hard. But this is the choice we have all made and we just have to stay supportive of one another and cope as well as can be expected.

No idea. Jury sentenced him to 28 yrs but he has a hearing in Oct for the stay of execution. First trial (got a mistrial) he got 15 yrs, so we think that's what it'll get reduced to. Min is 8 yrs but we don't think that'll happen.

Like many of the other ladies IDK. He will go up for psrole in 5 yrs. If it isnt granted his max out date is 2025. So we are going to get a good parole attorney and hope for the best.

I was looking at the first threads on this post and realized that alot of these guys they were talking about in the begining should be out by now. So congrats to you that your guys/gals are home. For me my guy was sentenced to 12 year with 85% time. But we have a lot of legal stuff going on and are hopeful that his sentenced will be reduced to time served. So Here's to not knowing.
