I need a hug!

My husband was able to call today while he was with his PD and he said that if he could get $500 to put a down payment on his restitution that the judge would let him out tomorrow with a 2 year suspended sentence. Problem is, I don't have that kind of money and neither do his parents.

So I called and talked to his PD and she said that he would go in front of the judge tomorrow, and then he would have to go in front of a jury and yada yada yada. We're looking at 1-5 years.

So I asked her what his chances were that he would get the medical treatment that he needed while he was there and she said that if he had to be taken out of the jail then he probably wouldn't get it, because he is considered a flight risk (he missed court once.) He has Graves, and needs either surgery to remove his thyroids, or radiation to kill his thyroids. The doctors are all willing to treat him for FREE, but the jail won't take him.

So now I am sitting here crying because I feel like I have let him down to no avail. Not only is he going to be in jail longer, but they won't treat him for something that could KILL him. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place, with no way out right now. And not only that, but the guilt is overwhelming. It was a stupid crime that was done, and I was in on it, so I should be in jail too!

I haven't even been able to write him today because all I can do is tell him what a failure I am. He sees the judge tomorrow, who most likely is just going to tell him that he has to go in front of the grand jury, which only meets every 3 weeks.

So how do I get through these feelings?? I just need a hug right now, and someone to tell me it's going to be ok, because I feel as though my hearts been ripped out.

Thanks for the hugs and prayers. All I can do right now is pray for him and for the judge to be fair as this is his first major crime. Will let you know what the judge says tomorrow if he is able to call.

Baby gurl...everything happens for a reason. God has a plan and knows what he is doing. Just take it one day at a time. And when that is too much {cause some days it will be} take it one minute at a time. It will be okay.
