Questions about the points system

Does anyone know the points system?????how many is max,med,and min???? Is 17 points bad?

Points system for OkDOC:

1-6 = minimum yard
7-10= medium yard
10+ = maximum yard

Now depending on circumstances and situations Unit managers may sometimes over-ride points with the warden's approval.

Over-riding them means for example... if an offender is at a minimum yard and currently has 5 points and then receives a write-up which gives him 2 more points he or she will then have a total of 7 points which is over the minimum security limit. Most times that point that causes the inmate to be over the limit the unit manager will ask for the warden to over ride that point keeping the offender at the minimum yard instead of being transferred to a medium security yard and so on.
Hopefully that makes some sense. If your loved one has 17 points I am pretty sure that he or she will be going to a maximum security facility. 17 points is probably (in my own opinion) too much of a security risk for a unit manager to request to be over ridden.

Is your loved one already in DOC or are they being processed through LARC right now??

It really all depends on the situation.

yeah hes at larc he just got transferred last week....he was at county for two months and on oct 11 he signed for his time he got to larc on dec23 and i guess when he talked to his case manager they told him he got 17 points....theygave him 4 yrs but his lawyer said he might do a lil over a year ...his parole hearing says its june 2009....i just need help of what to expect

well my hubbys um did over ride his points hes gettin sent to medium and hes on level 2 they gave him 4yrs non violent...so whar do u think

I thought 12+ was max?

17 points is concidered max secruity i know that much cause my man had 17 but he was overode to medium by his cm good luck.

not sure exactly what more advice you are wanting lisa. You had asked for information regarding points and well I along with others have given you that info. So what other advice are you looking for so one of us may be able to help.

It's a good thing that his Unit Manager over rode his points to send him to a medium. Level 2 is what most inmates are on after leaving LARC and well i am not sure about how much time he will have to serve but I think that it's like 1/3 for non violent depending on how he does his time.

thanx every1 ...well im really not sure what kinds of questions to ask ..i know i may sound stupid lol...my man got 4 yrs non violent ok...hes been locked up since april 2 2008....he was in county until october 11...he signed for his time that day...he stayed in county and they moved him dec 23 to larc...he got credit for time served...does that include county time too...hes still in larc now and its been about a month and a half hes been there ...his um did over ride his points and what im hearing thats good...what do ya think....sorry if i sound unclear

Well if he had 17 points and his unit manager over rode his points than that is a good thing for sure... that means instead of going to the walls or the new max at holdenville he will be placed at a medium yard.
