I think it's perfect...it's not too far from the City, or from the Capital District.
Our Western NY sisters may have some trouble, but it would be even worse if it were in the City like previous ones were.

Trailways NY comes here from many places. You should check their website to see if they come here from where you are. It looks like it may be Sept. 19th, a Saturday but I have not yet confirmed the community room for that yet, just keep that in mind. I will be confirming a date early next week and will start posting details and getting head counts for children and adults. If you want to stay at a hotel, go to www.roomsaver.com and check out the coupons they have for hotels in Kingston. If you want to just come for the day you can do that too. I don't know how much time I can dedicate, with my responsibilities here, and taking a new position in the school district, but I will help if I can.

I am pretty much spreading the word to any and every prison family and friend in hopes of getting a decent crowd out, since I know there are many reasons that a lot of people just can't make it so please feel free to spread the word once I get the date for sure, I am posting info at NYIF and passing out flyers in my general area and telling people at my facility (GH). Any help anyone can offer is great, it won't take much. I do want paper products including table clothes, plates, cups, napkins and decorations and balloons etc. Also toys can be brought to put in the play area for the children. If anyone needs help finding accomadations at a hotel let me know. And if you visit any of the prisons that are close, and there are many, it could be a visit and G2G all in one. I know this will be nice for everyone we really need to get together sometimes!

hey i see that your man is in attica; my mans right next door in wyoming correctional; where in ny you live? i dont know how atticas visiting system works, but i go every odd day during the weekend.. i dont know if i can be of any help but who knows..

Do you still see Nellie (Nelida) at GH? (I think about her all the time...what a sweetheart!) How about Tatiyana? (Do you know her?) I would LOVE to see them again, I miss them so much!!!

Nelida is still there and Tatiana too. I will definetly try to let a bunch of the GHers know to see who can make it. The best thing to do is just decide to have a G2G and just work on it, anyone can do it if you plan ahead and pick a date far enough in the future for people to make their arrangements. We will have such fun I am sure!

Okay! Let's do this. Is your location realistically available on a given weekend? I think it sounds better than having it at a restaurant where the tab can run very high very fast. Can you find out if there's a way to keep hot foods warm/chafing dishes? Ice available? Tables/chairs etc?
Oh, I hope Nellie and Tatiana will come! Have you talked to Tanya? I'm practically "around the corner" from her and haven't talked to her....but that's my fault, I haven't been going to the Monday meetings either for quite some time.

The community room has lots of availability especially if reserved early and it has a kitchen with stove and refrigerator but if anyone wants to bring a hot dish I suggest that you bring it in a pan so that it can be heated or kept warm. We can keep ice in the freezer and there are many tables and chairs and bench seating that runs the whole way across one side of one of the rooms by the windows. There is a women's and men's bathroom and a separate room that can be used for kids to play in. I plan to have music so if anyone has ideas on that please let me know. I am not against playing anything (other than profanity and sex stuff because of the kids) but I am mainly into R&B, Hip Hop and minor rap, oldies and newies. So if anyone has music on an MP3 and an MP3 capability stereo let me know. Nellie works weekends till 4 and I don't know that she will want to make that drive and I am not sure about Tatiana but I will pass out small flyers to some of the ladies I know there. September 19th (Sat) from 3-8pm is the current tentative date and time, that way those that will visit close by can still attend and get their visit and those traveling from far like a lady from Massachusetts can have time to arrive. I will be confirming that sometime next week and will then take formal RSVP's via my email to compile a list so everyone knows how much food to make dependent upon how many will attend.

Hosted By, TheMrs. (Cindy Flowers of PTO). There will be music, movies, games, door prizes and food(I will supply enough hot dogs, buns and hot dog condiments for everyone). You will need to bring you and your children and a dish to share, a beverage, and $2 to go towards the raffle. One person will win the total money at the end of the G2G. We will have a line dance contest and more. You must RSVP to me with your name, how many will be attending, your dish, where you are from and what facility your loved one is at by sending me an email to *Please PM for email address and personal contact information, per policy. Thank you.* all RSVP's must be sent to my email for me to make a formal attendance check in list. There is no smoking or drinking allowed, smoking can be done outside the community center. Hi all,

Thanks for all the activity about the G2G that I am hosting I hope for it to be great and all of you will make it great by coming out. I do need everyone to PM if you are coming so that I can give you my email for you to send me the requested information so that I can put together a nice sign in sheet and make name tags. Location of loved one is asked for so that people in the same hubs can meet and possibly hook up rides with each other and stuff. Does anyone want to come early with balloons or send money to me for them?

Try to arrange your schedule to be here for this, it will be fun and we need "us" time especially "together". Don't forget you need to bring a dish or some food from somewhere, does not have to be cooked by you, can be pizza, chinese rice, wing dings or anything and please each person bring a beverage.

If you want to supply decorations and/or utensils and things I need you to either come early or send it to me or send me the funds for it so please let me know what you can do.

I want to be able to have a pretty accurate head count at least a couple of days before because I am supplying hot dogs for everyone and another person is bringing hamburgers for everyone.

Come on folks lets get those PM's out to me so I can get that guest list together!!
