Notice to new members intending to register - from January 9th 2012

Please be aware that, due to difficulties arising from issues with Yahoo and AOL, we have changed our registration requirements.

Users with email addresses from yahoo.com, yahoo.co.uk and aol.com will no longer be able to use them to create a new account.
We have had a long-standing problems with these mail services and have found that it is almost impossible to send out account activations to new users who have Yahoo or AOL providers.

PTO is proud to present the first issue of PTO Quarterly. This new venture is a newsletter in an online format. It has been produced in both Word and PDF formats that you can read while online, download to your computer, and even print to send a copy to your loved one.

Smile Honoring our PTO Staff
Our PTO staff are a fantastic group of people.
They are all volunteers and give their time generously and without reward.

We would like to acknowledge them here, publicly.

Current holders of the title will have a "Superstar" icon for the duration of their month.

Previous nominees will get a star added to their user names. The more stars they have, the more times they have been nominated.

We will be starting to add names to our "PTO Roll of Honor".

Each month we will add a new staffer's name; someone who has made an outstanding effort on the site, gone beyond the call of duty and has really made Prison Talk a better experience for all.

If you would like to nominate a member of staff for this award, please send me (or any other Admin) a PM, in confidence, and we will consider your suggestions.

Staff Roll of Honor

As we realise that some of you will not be aware of who these staffers are or where they work, here is a little summary of why we think that they are great:


KennyKamm is now a moderator in the Texas and Louisiania forums; when we gave him this award he was a Research Assistant, but we felt that he was ready to step into the moderator role.
He is patient and kind, always there with an encouraging word. He will go the extra mile to help members and is always ready to volunteer for any jobs that need to be done.
He is a credit to PTO and we are very proud to have him on the team.


goldenglove is a super moderator; you will see her name pop up all over the place. She is a very busy lady and works in many, many forums here on PTO.
She has won the award this month (March 20 - April 19) for her tremendous efforts in organising the creation of a "PTO Friendship Quilt" (See the Artistic Corner for more info), resource building in the Canada Forums, being at the forefront of helping with the PTO Logo Competition, participating in staff training and lots of other things that are too numerous to mention.


Outraged is a moderator; he works in the Federal forums. He is hard working and professional. His level head has proven to be an asset not only in his forums but also in his day to day communications with members.
We would like to acknowledge his commitment, focus and dedication to PTO.

ALiferzWife is one of our busiest Site Moderators who has some of the highest moderator statistics. She is in many forums including CALIFORNIA, Here to HEAR You, Husbands & Boyfriends in Prison, Met While Incarcerated, When the Relationship is Over... She is all over the site on a daily basis, not only assisting to ensure that the small details are taken care of, but taking time to assist members on a individual basis and go that extra step to help.
Her dedication and commitment are an invaluable contribution to the overall success of PTO!


As you can see, we are very privileged to have such wonderful staffers on our team.

This is our way of "showing them off" to the world!!

Our latest Superstar is tee.dot.q (Suz)

She has only been a Research Assistant for a short few weeks but has already made a big difference in her forums.

She is a great example of someone who is keen, full of ideas and willing to help.

Here is August's update:

tee.dot.q has been made a moderator, we were so impressed with her hard work that we decided to give her a wider remit on PTO!

We also received a couple of nominations from members, we have kept your suggestions in our records and will hopefully be able to honor those staffers in the very near future.
There are so many great staff here on PTO, and we only have one award a month!!

This month's Staff Superstar is ben's girl
Jen is a site moderator and you will see her all over PTO.
She is dedicated, hard working and a great team player.

Here we are, back for October's update!

This month we have an outstanding member of staff as our Super Star.

NtShadow has been a hardworking member of the PTO team for a long time now. We know that she has made a great contribution to the Arizona forums and has also recently taken on more responsibility site-wide.
She is a busy-bee, we are proud that she works so hard and is a kind and understanding member of staff.

So, Pat, thanks for everything that you do. We truly appreciate you!!
