Proof Positive How Your PTO Membership Works For You

As some of you know, I was in a car accident this past Friday.

Here is what you dont know.

A few weeks ago I was PM'd by a new member Samanthalee. Her fiance is in the same prison as my husband. She was coming from out of state for a
visit.

Anyway, we shared email address's and started writing each other. Come to find out we had alot in common.
We had both worked Crisis Lines in the same state. We had both lived in three states, and our current employment is in the same field.

We shared phone numbers and spoke on the phone.

Well she had planned her visit for this past Friday (when I had my accident).

We had planned to meet at a local restaurant right after the visit for lunch.

We didnt really get to talk much after the visit, just a few words and then we departed for the restaurant.

Well she was ahead of me and was at the restaurant when my accident happened. Just a few miles away.

When the police asked me who they could contact for me, I gave them her name because I knew she would be waiting on me and wondering where I had gone.

Well let me tell you ladies and gentlemen, she came right over, picked me up and took me to the hospital. She stayed with me the whole time and mind you she hadnt eaten and was hungry. You know how hospital emergency rooms can be.

After I was released from the hospital, we went to dinner. Of course I didnt eat but a couple of bites, but she enjoyed a meal and then we talked some.

We didnt get to talk a whole lot because I was in alot of pain.

She stayed with me until another friend could pick me up.

Then on Sat she was going back to the prison for another visit. Of course I was to be there also, but couldnt.

She shared the accident with her loved one and he in turn relayed the message to my husband.

So my husband could know why I wasnt there.

She stood by me all the way and was very comforting to have by my side.

So here is a big THANK YOU to a new friend.

I cant tell you how eternally grateful I am to have her as a friend.

The support here at PTO has just got to be the best there is on the net.

Prior to this accident, I was able to help two members out with problems behind the scenes.

So I am here to tell you what you put out will always come back to you.

We all share the same bond in having a loved one incarcerated and now I have even a deeper bond for someone who was really there for me.

This meant more to me than words can say. I just wanted to share it with each of you, especially you new members, so you can see proof positve how your membership pays off.

How wonderful!!! PTO is an awesome, awesome thing. I think Fed-X knew what a good idea he had when he gave creative birth to this little site on the Web, but things like this just prove HOW fantastic an idea it was!!

Thank you for taking care of Babygirl, Samanthalee - and Babygirl, we're just glad you're OK! Cars can be replaced but YOU can't, and every member of PTO is very special and irreplaceable!!!

Thanks for sharing .......... There is nothing like having a good friend. And I think when I say this site has given alot of us the best of friends. There is always someone here when we need them. I'm very glad to hear you ok now and that she was there for you.. Being alone is not the way to be, and none of us have to be that way here any longer.. Not completely..

I'm so glad you're feeling better and that she was able to do all of that for you! PTO and it's members come thru even when we're least expecting it as Jeni said.... Messages gotten to our guys can be a huge help as well and I know many of us do it a whenever needed....

hey, your story is really wonderfull....it is SO TRUE!! we are never alone here...and even I, from a country far away, feel so close to all of you when I am here....I am so glad you are okay and that you have this wondefull friend...and that you told us about it....this is what we are supposed to do...be there for each other...because life would be hell alone out here with a loved one inside.....take care and get well soon!!!!

I want to say that what comes around goes around. Good things happen to good people. When I first joined I was feeling very down and not long after I hit what seemed like the bottom. This member took the time to PM me for no reason other then she was concerned. A lot of members have been very helpful to me and I could go on about so many of them, but here is a little about one of them.

Thanks tnc, each member here are very special. It always is a pat on the back to hear you have brightened someone's day or helped lighten their load. After all we are all in this together, we all have loved ones incarcerated, or have been there ourselves.
For me finding Samanthalee couldnt have come at a better time in my life.

babygirl that is the best ....i know too that the friends i am making on pto would be there for me if they could be..you and samantha are lucky to have found each other...this is a bond that can never be broken....take care of yourself and a speedy recovery

I agree with all of you; and I've only been here since October...Babygirl happens to be one of a handful that reached out to me and she is very special in my book and I count her as a special friend. That this wonderful thing happened to her at a time of need really doesn't surprise me because as posted above she is often there for a lot of us! She is calm, comforting, soothing and shoots from the hip but in the most awesome way because it IS her way. I am always interested in what her posts have to say because I find someone with a lot of caring and feeling and with a knowledge borne of having "been there" a great deal of the time.

I will always be especially thankful to our fellow PTO'er Samanthalee.
