Default Question about county of release

I have a question. My man currently is in Monroe Wa and I was wondering does any one know if when it comes time for him to release will he have to release to the county he committed the crime in? Or if my address gets approved would he be able to release with me? Thanks for any and all your help!!!

A lot of times they will release to another county if there is good reason ie family job. Ask in WA forum for specifics good luck!

Default Release question

So i called wa doc today and asked them if it was indeed true is my man would have to release in the county that he committed his crime in and she told me yes. But she said if he has good reason and can explain why he does not want to release there maybe just maybe he can be able to release to my address. He is in for assult and crimnal gang activity so yea he does not want to go back to his home town. Now he still has a year and 1/2 left but does any one have any ideas i can do to help his process along or ideas i can give to him to be done? And when do you think they will be asking him for a release address? Thanks 4 every one's help!!!

I am concerned with that as well, when my man is released, he does not have anyone in WA he is from CA. but got into this problem in WA. I dont what will happen, will they allow him to come back to CA. can he come and live with me, he will also not be going back to his home town in CA. Compton! yea he will NOT be going back, has anyone come across something like this.

you might want to start writing letters to his counselor and the release board in Olympia about not being released to his hometown and keep writing on a regular basis. he needs to do the same. good luck.

He might want to try to find a oxford house that will accept him if he already has a job lined up.

Want to go to California
He will want to transfer states under the Interstate Compact. You can contact your local Parole office to get details on the procedure.

Go to a different county
Normally they must go to the county of conviction. But this can be waived if his family or support people are in a different county. Both counties must agree to the change. A Release Plan should be submitted no less than 6 months prior to release.

Both counties must agree to the change request IF it is for good reason such as family home, support people or varifiable employment. He needs to submit a Release Plan at least six months prior to his release.
