Notice to new members intending to register - from January 9th 2012

On Thursday 30 Apr 09 my friend, first love and husband died. While we knew he was terminal and after all his four years of suffering and I was relieved the suffering was over - my heart was broken. We have been married 29 years and he was an "ooooh weeee" from the first moment we meet.

Thursday was my visiting day for my son too. I called and spoke with the chaplain and she immediately let my son call me. I told him and said I was coming up there. I walked in the visiting room and was met with the biggest smile and a huge bear hug! All the tension evaporated and we had the best visit ever. We laughed and told Dad stories for the whole hour. He was the greatest comfort for me. I left my son knowing he was at peace and had a heart full of warm memories of his Dad.

I had a letter from Hospice and the staff and COs were great and could not have treated us more humanly. They allowed my son to embrace me throughout the visit.

We had decided not to press for a pass or anything, I am going to tape the service and when he comes home - we promised we'd get a bug box of tissues and watch it together. Until then he was going to savor the happy memories until he can deal with the missing part later.

Thanks for letting me vent - where as can I go? You are all remarkable people and I am blessed to know you!

I am so sorry for your loss, However you handled this with so much grace and compassion with your son. Sending prayers that angels of comfort surround you and your family throughout this time.

Nicksmother ~ I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your husband and first love

~ your post brought tears to my eyes but I do not like to see anyone suffer. I just thank God, and I know you are thankful, that they were compassionate enough to let you have this special visit with your son, and that you were able to be together and comfort each other. The taping of the service is a wonderful idea; in fact you might even need two boxes of tissues.

I am so sorry for your loss.
It is wonderful that you were able to go and see Nick and spend the time with him with happy tears and memories of his dad. I am sure that the loss is great and yet the huge weight that must be lifted from yours & Nick's shoulders knowing that your love & Nick's dad is now at peace with his maker.
May the Angel's surround you and continue to lift you up with their love and peace that I can already "hear" in your words that you have posted here.

I am sorry for your loss. I am glad you are taping the service, they taped my husband service and i put it in the tape recorder and l have listen to it a few times, it is heart warming to hear the music and the preacher sermon. Even after 8 yrs.
God Bless you and the family he will be missed. But think of all the good things and laugh a lot it gets us thru.

Nicksmother I am sorry for you loss, and grateful that you were able to have some time with Nick in both of yours hour of need. and were able to comfort each other with stories of your husband and Nicks dad. it really is a time for a celebration of life tho the tears will flow and the pain will be hard to handle you will at least be able to take solice in knowing that your loved one is no longer in pain and is with our Lord looking down and watching over you and Nick ((((((((Hugs)))))) Angel

Your post brought tears to my eyes also. We know your husband/best friend is now face-to-face with the Lord in a place where there is no more suffering or pain. You have a wonderful son, and you are blessed to have each other.

You are a remarkable lady. Your post was straight from the heart and I'm honored to have read it. May God comfort you and your son and wrap His arms around you with His love. Oh NicksMother my heart breaks for you. It is devastating to lose a loved one and must be very difficult it being your soul-mate. I know your husband is no longer suffering, but that doesn't mean your heart isn't breaking. My heart aches for the pain you are going through. I always hear people say time eases your pain, and I hope your pain eases as each day goes by.

I am so glad you were able to spend some time with Nick and share great memories. I have to say in this case I have respect for those CO's that treated you with such kindness. God must have been looking out for you because a lot of times, they are very uncaring. It was very nice of them to let you visit in a way that you could comfort eachother. I am sure this whole situation must be very painful for Nick as well.

You are both in my thoughts and prayers. We are all here for you. May God Bless and watch over you during this very difficult time.

May angels lead your love into Paradise; may the martyrs receive him at his coming and lead him to the holy city of Jerusalem. May a choir of angels receive him, and with Lazarus, who once was poor, may he have eternal rest.

Tears for your sad loss. I am sure you will be reunited but til then it can be a lonely journey. I am so happy your son comforted you. poor guy could not even come to his dad's services. remember and keep the thought that although a thousand years pass, it will be as if only a moment passed when you see your love again.
