HELLO, IM NEW IN THIS FORUM, I HAVE MY SON IN MCRAE, GA FEDERAL DETENTION CENTER AND SINCE LAST NIGHT I HAVENT HAD ANY CONTACT WITH HIM HE CALLS EVERY NIGHT. I HAVE TALKED WITH OTHER LADYES THAT THERE SONS AND HUSBANDS ARE WITH HIM AND THEY ARE SAYING THE SAME THING, DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING?

Welcome to both of you, I'm sorry no one answered you before, that is very unusual for this forum. It is a great place for support and understanding as so many moms and dads have a child in prison.
Natalia I don't know about your particular prison but there can be many reasons for no phone calls. I know how stressful it is not to hear anything, our imaginations go wild but there usually is a logical explanation. I suggest you look at your state forum, maybe someone has an answer.

Hello and welcome to you, I found a link about Mcrae, maybe it will help you get some information from others who have loved ones there. It sometimes takes a while to get around PTO and learn your way around. I also have a son in Federal Prison. Here is the link I found about McRae. It seems it is a privately owned prison and I went to the bop website. It said that 15 percent of inmates in federal are in privately owned prisons. Hi Natalia, lumina and Paula ~ welcome to PWCIP (Parents with Children in Prison) and I hope you'll come back and visit us often. I'm not sure, and don't understand, why no one would answer you because most of the time(s) someone or the other is here, and usually you get an answer within a couple to several hours from when you posted; but at least within at least a day or so. I have no answer for you as to why...

In any case this is where the Moms and some Dads all come for friendship, support, and comraderie, etc. with no one ever judging us, or our loved one, in any shape or form. Many times we find that our friends, and yes even our families have abandoned us, and have no one to talk to or confide in.

Of course you do not want to post anything here that is confidential or that you don't want the whole world to know about because you never know who is here.

You can always ask questions,

call out for help, post your opinions, share your views, and fears, give your advice, or post stories that have happened to you, and you may even get a chuckle

out of us once in a while. This is the place also to "vent" your frustrations with the prison system and & get all kinds of information from your new found friends. Just ask!

Please note there is also individual "state" forums that have information about your particular prisons, and where you will find lots of information and what you need to know about procedures, visiting, phones, packages, mail, commissary, and rules, etc. etc. etc. There is also a place in this forum for you to let people know you are new and so you can be

welcomed.

Go ahead and look around. I think you will like it, and as more people see you post I am sure they will chime in as well.

I was only on for a short time last night. When I know my time is limited I check the state forum for any thing new to see if someone new has joined that needs quick info, then I come here and do a semi quick glance down through for the same thing. I have no idea why but I missed this. I stated it is really unusual to not have people jump all over with a welcome.

There is also a forum for Federal which will probably give better information on federal facility related questions, but lots of parental support here.

Wow I am sorry i missed this post too. That is strange no one answered you though. I truly do not know much about the federal prison system as my girls are in state. you could check with your individual forum and see if someone knows or the federal forum as well. Have you called the prison to see if soemthing is going on. Maybe they are issues witht he phones or on lockdown or something. I am sure there is a reason and hoep you get a call soon.
