San Luis Potosi is a state in Central Mexico. Mandy was living there, but since she's not been around, I assume she's still on la frontera without internet.
If I recall correctly, from my numerous drives, it is about 6 hours Northwest of Mexico City.
Mandy and times up both have blogs (links have been posted in threads before, so search function might help you find them) and both have links for many other blogs, some of them are other Americans living in Mexico. You might be able to find some helpful information in one or more of them.
Best of luck to you with your new adventure

my step-grandparents moved from the states to san luis potosi, lived there for about 10 years and are now back here. they enjoyed living there, it is very "americanized". i believe it's in the mountains. and quite pretty. good luck to you.

Hi, im back pamela c knows me all to well...yes i'm on the frontera with no internet...geez the hoops you go through to get services is incredible.
Anywho.....that' awesome your on journey of a lifetime heading to SLP. I lived there on and off for a year...check out my thread...(update from mexico) we lived in Cd Valles. What part of SLP will you be living in? Then i can help you from there. It's a very vast state with beautiful country. However the best way to find a house is get in your car and drive around town. Look for RENTA CASA signs and start calling. As far as a job...well most women dont work....best bet is if you can get a online job connected from the states of some sort. Any ways...i'll be checking back in a few days and hopefully you'll have the town posted and i can give more advice. Hope to maybe see you one day. I love runing into expats here in MX...we have so much in common. God Bless
