May she rest in peace
and many positive thoughts and prayers to the family and loved ones.

Susan Atkins touched so many women and did so much positive in such a negative place. My hope would be one day she would have the positives printed about her and people would understand that there is rehabilitation and people do change.

As I stated on another thread, the state of California had the chance to show that it was "bigger" in every sense than the Manson Family. It chose not to be so. Are we safer now? And if those in California will sleep more soundly, we may well ask ourselves just what sort of "peace of mind" the authorities require.

To the "eye for an eye" people: one may more or less reasonably conclude that Susan Atkins' final illness was a verdict handed down by a Higher Authority. Be that as it may, by increasing and prolonging her suffering, the State of California acted with as little regard for human dignity as did the Manson Family, and in so doing, incurred a debt to Ms. Atkins and her family of an incalculable number of metaphorical eyes.

Regardless of anyone's feelings on the DP, I dare say I would never jump for joy upon the death of any human being.

Default Atkins

I think she has been locked up in CIW so long she started to look like the buildings there, all gloomy and gray . She was married to a lawyer he came to visit her every weekend plus, he was a "preppy" , "yuppy" a little fellow with long red hair, I was there for about 6 months, for fire camp training. She looked so old, they all did, all I used to think was how could you be locked up in this hole for 30 years alittle more? Its not like she had a choice. But I think its sad to see someone in prison, grow up there, live there, and die there. But I think its best she did die there, she only knew of the outside from TV, movies and people. I found her very weird , I found it strange when they would be at church every Sunday, they were like alter boys or what not, I wondered what they think when they were in church, did they go to church to ask God for forgiveness?

It is all about money...We know California is broke...They certainly don't have the money to pay for her hospital stay and armed guards,
IMO it will be granted,
Cooey cost the state of Fl approx 270,000 dollar's in a month and 1/2 for Just the hospital and guards..
It could cost a million plus for Atkins...depending on how long she lives..

footnote... I never did read what Cooey finally cost Fl.
