Default Intro--jsgirl05

ok...i think i posted this in the wrong spot initially...so lets try again lol!

hello....my fiance left last monday for state prison, in concord. Im a newbie to this site, but def not to prison life. He was in the feds prior to this for 2 yrs, we were together off and on through that as well. This is first state bid so its a lil different. Hes doing 18mon-3yrs. Then he will be in drug court. His crimes are because he is a victim of a nasty thing called drug addiction! I am as well, but i have been clean for 2.5 yrs now though, he was for a while, then he relapsed after her finished all his fed probation and here we are...AGAIN! This time its gonna be a long haul! I found out the wed before he left that i was pregnant with our first child together. He has a daughter and i have a son from previous relationships. I have suffered through many miscarriages and even a loss at full term (all before i ever did drugs...so no relation), so needless to say this is a very scary time for me, esp to be alone now I love this man so much and we have been to hell and back! He has my heart though, for some strange reason lol. I hope to be able to make some friends here and find some support for the next few years!

Default Hello, and Welcome to PTO.

Hello, and welcome to PTO. I am sorry that you have to travel down the doc road, but I'm glad you found us here along the way. Allow me to congratulate you on being clean (sobriety) for 2 1/2 years. It take courage to admit that we are powerless over our addictions and to hand it all over to our greater power. Kudos!
I saw in your intro that your husband was sentenced to 18 months to three years. If I'm correct then he'll be eligible for parole in eighteen months. Also, being that he has eighteen months before his parole, he is qualified to transfer into a minimum security unit (MSU). His stay at the NHSP Concord will begin in R&D, then into the dorms. I've been there and it's not the best of beginnings while waiting for bed-space. This may take some time (2-3 months) before he transfers into permanent housing. NHSP is not hard time compared to other prisons, so he should be fine. He will want to sign-up for the S.A.S. (drug and alcohol abuse) program as soon as possible. It will most-likely be required by the doc prior to his release. I would recommend the NCF Berlin prison facility for that, but the Laconia MSU is closing this week and a lot of inmates will be transfered there. Still however, he may want to talk to his counselor about that.
Meanwhile, scroll down to the different threads in the NH PTO forum and post away! You've come to the right place for support and understanding.
Also, I'd like to recommend two PTO forums that may help you along the way.
One is called; 'HUSBANDS AND BOYFRIENDS IN PRISON' Click Here
And a "Real-Time_ PTO forum called; 'ispy' Click Here
I hope that helps, and again Welcome to PTO!
