Notice to new members intending to register - from January 9th 2012

Please be aware that, due to difficulties arising from issues with Yahoo and AOL, we have changed our registration requirements.

Talking FINALLY! I got a letter!
Its been over 2 wks since Jason left county and I have been just a mess! I have written several times, but nothing. Everyday I go to the mailbox promptly at 10am, only to make the slow walk back. Today it was there!!! YAY! I did the happy dance right there at the street (we live in a rural area and its a long walk there and back and Im sure my neighbors thought I was nuts, but Idk!). That was the quickest Ive made it back inside! Anyway, with shaky hands I got it open and he is ok! Still has his sense of humor, still has his spirit! He didnt say anything about the processing or what that is like, just that he is in a 54 man warehouse and its HOT! So apparantly they only get to go to the store every 2 wks and when he finally got to go, they were out of paper! So he found some papers I guess from his information packet and made lines on the back and wrote on that. Then he sent it but it came back to him, apparantly he put the zip code wrong. So he had to resend it. thats why its taken so long. He sounds so good and so like himself, and Im so happy. I texted everyone on my list and told them all is well, so its a relief day for me. Maybe I can function now. Ah, I think Im gonna take it easy today and just unwind some.

Oh yay. I know all too well that long walk back after not getting a letter from my son. I also remember very well the happy dance right there in the open...finally!!!!!A letter!!!

I am so glad that your boy is okay and doing well.

my son was alllowed to have me send one or two extra blank pages when I sent him a letter. (he also had been known to use the backs of other papers there)

MamaB, I got my letter last Thursday so we'll happy dance together and the whole world can think we're nuts and we won't care.

I'm so happy you finally heard. And the wrong zip code....that sounds like something my son would do.

Ladies, youre the best! I havent smiled so much in such a long time!! Dang its been a good day! From the letter, to your touching and hilarious comments. Im gonna just bask in the glory! he did say the next letter may be on toilet paper cuz he has no paper, but I fixed that! I shot off an order to Rosies pronto!!!. She said "no wonder I been getting so many orders from that unit!", so guess its not just me! As for the video you posted Jancy, that was too darn cute! I dont think I looked quite that good in my steps tho! (white girl cant dance! LOL), but i gave it my best. He also said "I go out to eat 3 times a day" (outside and 2 bldgs down)LOL, boy aint lost a bit of his wit yet. Praise the Lord!

Mama we do learn to celebrate the small things from the life our children chose don't we. I never stopped dancing when I got a letter no matter if I had just talked to him on the phone. Glad it was such a good day.

Still awaiting my son's letter after processing doing that checking everyday, unfortunately I have to wait till after work to check but I can't wait to do that happy dance, think I'll come back to this post and play that link "Dancing in the Streets" when I get it!!! Hope its any day now!!! For now I will enjoy your happiness!!!!

I will gladly share my happiness with you! I have lots to share even still today. I want to know when you get your letter, so I can share yours as well!!!! I know you will be getting it anytime now! But if you dont get it soon, do as I was planning on doing that very day if one didnt come....I was gonna call the unit chaplain and have him do a well check for me, just so I would know he really is ok.

This is truly an awesome thread to read!!!! Congratulations on getting that letter!!!!!
I remember the first letter i got from Megan..... I danced around the house with dog until my son told me i was really flipping out!!!!! LOL I think everyone in the neighborhood knew when i got that first letter as i yelled at the top of my lungs......OHHHH YEAAAAAA!

ok ladies I am going to tell you what I did when my son did not write. I found a lady here on PTO that was going to visit her husband and they were in the same unit so she gave her husband the message which in turn found out who my son was and told him "You better write your momma or my wife is going to let me have it. He said I don't have any paper or stamps. He gave my son what he needed to write me a letter. The first line in the letter "Only you could get me a message in prison". that's me your moma.
Letters are the best.
