They are letting people drive again on the base again. Some flooding near the golf course. Some electricity out in a particular section of house across from the base to the north I think. Doesn't sound like much in the way of tree damage on the military base.

Hi all, I am wondering whether anyone has ever contacted the vending machine company for FCI Ft Dix to report the problems with the vending machines? I have been visiting the West side for about a year now and there have been very few visits when all of the machines work and many days when more than one is not working properly.

thank you

The system was down for the day for maintenance across the board. They came back online a little while ago.

Ongoing maintenance happens with any computer system. Since they are also looking at offering the MP3 players next year, they have been preparing for that. I personally have not experienced a lot of down time since my LO has been using the system. They are generally told when the system will be down as well. Whenever I get notified, I try to post here so that everyone is aware.

As far as what the MP3 player is all about, it is my understanding that the BOP will be selling MP3 players on the comm. From there they should be able to purchase music to download to their players. There will be a charging station for them to re-charge their players if purchased. There will be charges for the music and the "charging station" use.

Right now, that's all I know.

thats nice that they are trying to do that..but really i can think of better ways for the BOP to make life better for the guys...because im pretty sure ALL the guys would trade this little peak for a more REALISTIC SENTENCE!!!!!..but hey i guess its a step in the right direction

I heard during the wee hours of the morning around 1-2 am there was an assault in the hallway on the east side and because of that everyone has had their meal times changed and all the other wonderful "peaks" they had like microwave and tv's taken away....i totally understand its a ruff situation in there but dont they realize the more they 'act up' the more the warden and the goons will enforce misery

Oh, I am saddened to hear about the lock down. Hang in there through this difficult time. I am not sure about the visits during locak down, but I think there are previous threads in the federal section on that. Might be best to call Ft Dix FCI directly to be sure. I am thinking there may be a lockdown on the west side too because of this...seemed like a sizeable event from what you had said...My Mon did not get an email from my brother today and she usually gets a few each day. I get them about every day, or every other day, so missing a day would not worry me quite as much as her not getting one. Gee I was thinking if running down this weekend too but late this evening decided to put it off a week or two. Oh this is so hard...such a worry for us family members. Have to think about what I will say to my Mom tomorrow now about this. She has so many worries as it is. Will probably have to give her some indication of what is going on and may be impacting the west side too. My parents are older and their health has really suffered in the past few years through all this. Take care,

Thx for the kind words TinknTaz...about my parents. Has really taken its toll on them with all the worry, etc. Stabbing in my bro's building yesterday on west side. So they can email but a mini-lock down situation
yesterday/today. Hope it will be back to normal soon and that all your loved ones are okay. Regards to all.
