They should atleast increase visiting points and phone minutes to this facility because none of this is any fault of our own

Funbag do you know if you are going to the Camp or FCI? Also, remember to wash hands, wash hands, wash hands. That is your best defense.

YES, WASH HANDS , USE THOSE HAND SANTIZER, GET LYSOL OR WHAT EVER YOU CAN FIND.. BUT YOU WILL WANT TO USE THE PHONE, IT HELPS TO TALK TO THE PEOPLE YOU CARE ABOUT AND THOSE WHO CARE ABOUT YOU. TRUST ME , WE ARE DOING TIME WITH ALL OF YOU , AND IT IS HARD. ))

Thanks for the support yall have given.I am getting to Ss so hopefully I will go to the camp side.
They didnt tell me in my designation letter, but i added up my classification points and it added up to 10.Subtract the 3 point for being allowed to ss and that puts my bop classification at a 7.... 0-11 puts you in camp so hope fully thats what it will be.Three days until i ss and im ready to get started.the begining of the end to this ordeal and get back out here to my wife,my two daughters(10-12)and my 2year old son.....peace

Funbag,

you may go to the regular side first for a day, then to camp after. the camp is better, tell your wife and kids, its really easy for visiting in the camp and there are lots of kids on that side. its really ok for visiting, if she needs anything to pm me or post and we will help her. I visit all the time. so I can help ...

No sanitizers in the fed, they contain that dreaded alcohol. You can get antibacterial soap though. Chickenpox and shingles are caused by a virus, not a bacteria, but clean hands are always a good idea.

Getting thru this....Yeah !!! I think your phone calls yesterday may have helped more than originally thought!

Funbag...I asked about Camp vs FCI because I was thinking your risk of chix pox or shingles at the Camp is very low. Have only heard of cases at the FCI on the west side. So was trying to be more re-assuring on those points. I am so hoping you get into camp at Ft. Dix. Wishing you well over the weekend and next week and onward. You will settle in and be fine. Please do have your wife join us here for support. It is so helpful for family members. Peace and comfort to you.

FBOP...et al...there is hand sanitizer available that does not have alcohol in it, but doubt the BOP would even bother to look for that type. Simple and thorough hand washing with soap goes a long way. I hear the bathrooms inside the Ft Dix FCI are pretty disgusting though.

Thank you so much Worried Sis,

I think it was a joint effort, you said it, and I dialed the phone.. I hope that helped because, Lord knows , we all just needed answers to our questions , non of us want to cause any problems, just getting though the time... but you helped push me to make those calls.. so Thank you SIS !!!

Getting thru this...my brother said that they are opening visitation for FCI this weekend too. I cannot go down this weekend though unfortunately. I have a big project due on Tueday and am working this weekend to finish it up. I need to go down one of these next weekends though. Hope you have a change to get over there though.

Hello WorriedSis,

I went to visit this morning , I arrived at 8:30 am , and I was very surprised how slow it was , it was like a weekday visit . Tomorrow might be really crazy . So who ever is going , get in early . Vending machine was awful today . They had nothing (( . It was so good to see him after all these weeks I'm very sad now and feel lost . I wish I could go everyday .... ((

Default Air Show at Joint Base Maguire-Dix-Lakehurst This Weekend

I don't know how many follow the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst Facebook Page, but they have really been advertising their Open House and Air Show this weekend Saturday and Sunday. There is also a practice air show for DOD staff only on Friday. The Base will be open to the public for the Open House and Air Show. It sounds like it will be a nice event. I also wanted to mention this in case it affects visitation at FCI Ft. Dix. There may be more traffic and lines to get onto the Base even on the Pemberton Gate side. So you might want to make sure you get there early. The website below and the Facebook page have more info on the actual schedule for the Air Show and all the details about the event.

“The sound of thunder roared through our air space and the amazing U.S. Army Golden Knights floated to the ground today. Guess what that means? The Joint Base Open House and Air Show is a little more than 24 hours away. Betting you are in... need of some information for this weekend. If so, check out www.jbmdlopenhouse.com and if you live or work on base pick up the May 11th edition of the Air, Land & Sea Times ... it's full of Open House info!”

I was there today and the CO there said that we would be competing with 100,000 people trying to get to the air show. He said traffic gets backed up for hours. He suggested to have a full tank of gas and plan on waiting in standing traffic for quite some time. So if you are going this weekend. Leave early.

Taylorsboo...Have not heard about visit cancellations for next week. Will let you know if I can get any info too. That would be really a shame. Last Friday there was a lockdown while the COs went to see the airshow, but it sounded like those with visitors still got their visits. That was last Friday for the airshow last Friday through Sunday. Not sure what is next week.
