FCI--Fort Dix

This is the only thing listed on the Joint Base Maguire-Lakehurst-Dix-website for an event during that time period from June 23rd through the end of the month. Maybe it is something else not on the events calendar. I would not think a golf tournament would impact FCI visiting since the tournament would be on the golf couse and I think that's quite a distance from the FCI and tPointville Rd/Pemberton Gate area. So I checked the base Facebook page and website but no helpful info yet. The calendar had lots of events on it earlier in the month but nothing after the 24th.

Well maybe it just was not on the calender. Maybe someone else will know. We can check with our loved ones too. Maybe more info will clear this up.

Maybe there is some sort of secruity thing happening with the base?

The air show was a huge event. I was told 100,000 people would be there. And visits went as usual that weekend(well not for me but alas)

There is something else im not understanding...the way I get on the the prison grounds crap I cannot remember the road name anyway, I pretty much bypass the base and go straight onto the prison grounds, after passing through a checkpoint of course, if anyone drives through the base to get there I recommend going around. It seems much easier.

I was told By my Lo that no visits Next Monday or Thursday , He didn't say why .. I think he realizes while he's there his opinion just doesn't matter so he just goes with the flow ((.... I can see if he found anything out so I can relay ???

The only thing I heard was that they don't want civilians on the base next Monday and Thursday, unsure what is going on though.

All i was told was that visits for next thursday were cancelled somethimg to do with the base but he wasnt exactly sure of what thanks so much for responding

Aww thanks! I havent heard much about the goings ons lately because the SHU is pretty boring. So I have nothing to post. I can say that the BOP is certainly slow about processing things, my husband still does not have his medication, appearently one doesnt need zoloft while in the hole :-/

Also, the "handbook" says that he was supposed to have a DHO hearing within 3 days of the "offense"...yeah...its been over 2 weeks. What a joke.
As soon as I know how it turns out, I'll update. I hope I can at least help other learn what NOT to do.

I heard its only one building (5811) that had visits cancelled along with commissary! It's not bad enough that it was so hot in there all week, let's rub some salt in the wound. Hopefully the COs get over it and let things get back to normal soon.

I hope so too i calling up there in a few hours when they answer there phone my lo is not in 5811 this is ridicilous 2 weeks in a row then the chickenpox incident thanks for responding

Have not heard of the visit cancellation, but my brother has made reference to the staff there doing things and making changes that is causing stress there this week for the guys. If I get more detail I will post.

They did have visit today and i went supposedly somebody did something dumb yesterday and visits were threatened to be taken away but they werent im glad all went well had a great time best wishes to everyone

I heard they were locked down on the east side because they found holes in the fence. Have you SEEN that fence. Someone must have had some pretty heavy tools to make a hole in that fence. Wouldn't you think they could find a tool of that caliber somewhere, in someone locker or under a bed? What the heck is that all about anyway?

I heard they were using heavy duty wire cutters to cut through first fence on their side to get contraband more easily. Shrug... Who knows where they are getting the wire cutters.

My recent letter from my husband said that hole in the fence was a tunnel. Seriously? A tunnel how does anyone have time to start digging a freaking tunnel?
