Default He's being sent to the "farm" in Stillwater

I just found out that my man will be sent to Stillwater tomorrow. He had been told all along that because he doesn't have much time to do that he would stay in St. Cloud but he just got off his intake status and now they are sending him out. This bums me out a lot because I wont be able to see him like I do now and the phone calls will be long distance for him. And go figure... I was finally able to send money to him, he put in an order and now they canceled the order because of the move. they said it could take 2 weeks for the money to be transferred to stillwater... is this true? Oh and he is minimum security so he will be on what he calls the "farm"... can anyone tell me more about the farm and what to expect when I visit? Any info would be very helpful.

If you have a cell phone, you can call your cell phone provider and have them change your number to the zip code that he will be and your calls will be much cheaper(if he is buying phone time). We had two lines, so I changed his number to the St. Cloud prefix and I will keep doing that everytime they move him. I know that didnt answer you question, but maybe it helped

the only problem with that though is that my phone line is on with my mom's and I'm sure she wont help me change the number to talk to him considering she doesn't like him or the situation.

It's been a looooonnngggg time since I've known anyone on the farm, but it's awesome ! LOL They have so much more freedom and it really is a good place to be .. given the options ! I visited there once and it was similar to a halfway house, you just walked in .. signed in .. people all over the place, you could walk outside, etc. It sucks for distance, but he'll like it better than St Cloud !!

on the website it doesn't say how long i can be there... does this mean I can be there as long as I want? I guess I haven't visited anyone in a halfway house either... still kinda new to everything.

It depends on where he is because the farm has longer visitation than general population. But no there will be a time limit no matter where he is.

well here's an update... I thought he would be on the farm right away but as it is right now he is sitting in the general population. Don't know when they will let him go to the farm. This has us a little upset and wishing he could've just stayed in St. Cloud if he's just sitting in the cell like he was... especially since he has such a short sentence and St. Cloud already approved him for a work release program. If he is able to do that he will be transferred again in October. Idk just seems pointless to do all the transferring. Oh well.

Hi I read your post about your guy being sent to the farm in Stillwater, level one minimum security right?? That's where my husband is being sent to in two weeks from St Cloud. He's been there about a month and is supposed to serve 14 months. I was just wondering what it was like there. Is it like prison? Or is it better? Can he leave the grounds at all? Even for work release? If you go there does it better your chances of getting out earlier or do you end up with the full time anyway?? Sorry for so many questions, I'm just scared and confused. I'm sure you understand. But I wanted to hear what you think about the farm.....thanks
