Default Just Got Out

okay, I just got out and I am Lavenders Husband. I did about 15 years inside and let me tell you, for those of you who know the story, there is little that I need to say here, for the others, you need to just find the threads in here and read them to find out just what I am all about and what my Lavender is all about as well. I am coming here to introduce myself and let you all know, I have been there and done that for 15 years so if you have questions you can ask them and I will do what I can to answer them. I am not looking for anything here other than to help those of you out there who have loved ones inside to deal with what you are going through, but most of all I want to let you know that you need to stand by those who you know who are in there because it is appreciated in ways that you could never imagine. I am out here now with my Lavender, I love her with all my heart for being in my life and loving me through it all and let me tell you, without her, I never would have made it out here. Got out July 14th and am counting down the days until I can get off parole and transfer down to my baby...Been in prisons all over the state, from level 2 to level 5, and I am goign to give you the honest answers to the hard questions...Stand by those you love and care about because behind those walls it gets really hard at times...
THANK YOU LAVENDER!!! I LOVE YOU AND CAN'T WAIT TO COME HOME FOR REAL!!!

We have come a long way Danny...

From that "wonderful" visit that started it all in Carson City...
to all of the fights we have had that just made me feel like ...

We have had our ups and downs...

Thank you for finally giving in and learning to follow the rules...

Now just keep that going so you can finally come home to me...
Remember no...... and no ... or you will end up in again... And before long we will be .

I miss you
I love you Monkey...
Thank you Danny Boy...

congrats, i'm so glad to see your home. I hope everything works out for you, and your love. I have a quick question. My honey took TAP testing, and he's 8 months to his ERD, is it normal to do his PER this early, and does that mean he will be going to the see the parole board soon? And what is the compass testing.

the situation is approximately 6 months before his actual releasee date he will do what is known as a TAP, it stands for Transition Assesmnt Programs and will tell the state what he will need when he is released. All that it is is a bunch of questions that he will have to answer right there with his counselor. Usually a PER and the TAP are done 6-8 months before his release date, and a compass will be done as well. it isn't unusual for this to happen this early because the parole board is going to have an interview with him probably 6 months before his erd anyway...He could be released anytime after he goes to see the parole board, but what usually ends up happening is that he will see the parole board and they will determine what programs he is going to need and then they will put him in MPRI so that he can get the programs done that he has to have in order to get released. My advice about the MPRI program? Make sure that he stays on the counselor and the MPRI coordinator to get him into any classes that he may have to take because they tend to do stuff really slow in MPRI and then at the end they will tell him that he needs to have this new class or that new class and they will move his date so that he can get the stuff that he needs done...It is a bunch of balogna, but that is the wonderful MDOC system...And thanks for the congrats, it means a lot...

That is so nice of you to give everyone some input. Were on the outside and don't have a clue is to half of what goes on. Are you in a halfway house? If so how does it work there as far as rules and things? My husband will be going to a halfway house on Dec,3rd. Final release date is March29,th 2010. He will have served almost 3 yrs by then. But Thank you again so much!! I will pray for you and your Lavender.

Okay, no I am not in a halfway house, although that is where they were originally goin gto have me go when I left because I didn't have anywhere else to go and was waiting on the Interstate Compact Comittee to send me something about transferring out of state. I don't have a clue as to what the halfway house situation is, although I have heard nothing but bad things about it, such as that there are drug deals going on in them at nights and stuff like that, nothing positve that is for sure, which is why I am so thankful that I didn't have to end up in one (THanks LAV) and why I am so grateful that I was able to stay where I am now...You can probably go on the web and see what they have to offer as far as info is concerned, but that is the best that I can tell you. Guys on the inside say that +doing the halfway house thing is a bad situation, that is what I know

Smile How Are You Doing?

Hello Danny,

I'm interested in how you're adjusting to life on the outside. Are you having trouble with anything? Please write about whatever you want, but I'm particularly interested in what you think of technology. Things have really changed in the last 15 years. The proliferation of cellphones is amazing and, even though I use the internet all day long, I'm still amazed by the speed at which information is transmitted, even to the other side of the world.

Thanks so much for all the info you are willing to share with us. And congrats to you and Lavender on your release. Hopefully you will be together very soon.

We are six months into an 18 month flop. Dealing with it but not easy. He called last night and since I have someone who will give him a job when he is finally released, he needed the info on it for his "pre release" papers - I think that's what he said. He told me not to get excited though. And I'm not because I don't like the fall when things go wrong. I know - hope for the best, expect the worst. My life's mantra now!

Thanks again for your help.
