Default Update On Nick Yarris

I just spoke with Nicky on the phone, he asked that I tell everyone how much all your Love and Prayers for him mean and to Thank all of you. He is doing good and enjoying all the things that are coming with his new found freedom.

He also said to let you guys know that he will be on Fox News Channel tonight at 10:00pm EST it is a show called "For the Record" hosted by Greta Van Susternt it is going to be live and he will be heading to Washington DC soon to do the show.

If anyone can't get it I am going to tape it and will be happy to have copies made and send them to you. Just let me know in pm.

I think this is going to be wonderful, this will be the first national TV interview he has done.

softie

It is airing on the Fox News Channel Tonight Friday 1/23 at
7:00pm Pacific time
9:00pm Central time
10:00pm Eastern Time

You are more then welcome Kris, JoJo no he wasn't to nervous when I spoke to him, but when he gets there he might be. But I know he will handle it with Grace and Dignity just like he does every thing.

You listed all the times zones, but MST. Does that mean it's not on here? I tried to find it at 8:00 my time and there was some other program on FOX.

I'm so glad I watched this... I really know nothing of this man, except through one or two posts. He's very articulate and was extremely interesting to listen to.

Some of you are probably aware that my opinion of the death penalty differs from the majority here, but I do believe that if states continue to sentence people to death, that it cannot be done without DNA evidence. It would stop more cases like Mr. Yarris'. I can't believe that prosecutors would fight bringing in DNA evidence. It doesn't make sense... are they more concerned with getting a conviction versus finding the true perpertrator of the crime?

Anyways, thanks Softie for posting this information in the shoutbox, I never would have know about it. I wish Mr. Yarris peace and happiness in his new-found life.

Also, for those that missed it. FoxNews replays their evening block of shows overnight again. So you can check somewhere around 2am central time for the replay.

Hope this helps

Softie, thank you for the update. I hope he keeps us updated. I am very interested in hearing how someone gets on with their life after such a traumatic experience. I would also like a tape.

I watched it and I was amazed that he is not bitter about the situation. I think most in his position would have been very negative about what has happened but he seemed to be taking it very well. Well I guess as good as you can. I sure hope though that through lawsuits that he never has to work a day in the remainder of his life. I think the man has paid more dues to this country than I could ever muster. Best of luck Nick and I hope you live a long and happy life and let me be just one voice of society that says I'm sorry that our system failed you for so long.

OMG I have turned into my aunt Sarah.. <she’d fall asleep at the drop of a hat> I made sure I was in front of the TV well in advance of Greta’s show and even sat through Hannity & Cohms, saw the trailer and Nicky in his black leather jacket, but I’ll be damn if I didn’t fall asleep sitting there. When I woke up the show was over. I am so disappointed that I missed him.

Ebaniizs, this does tend to happen to us when we get older .

What struck my husband and I so strongly was that he gave no hint of bitterness or anger. I am amazed! He is articulate, clear, a sense of strength in him.

I, too, am appalled that prosecutors across this land will spend years fighting DNA testing. They are not interested in the truth; they are only interested in another conviction, which makes them look 'good'. Nicky did say one thing that sent a cold chill down my spine. He and these other people that have been cleared and released still have hanging over their heads the prosecutions prerogative of retrying or being sent back to prison.

What are your guy's thoughts on that!?

Another thing about him last night, he mentioned by name the other man that was on dr with him that is totally innocent. I hope that by doing that it will generate interest and action for this man.
